I, myself, never claimed to have been a war hero, but I served in the navy from 1942 to 1953, and, as president, greatly strengthened our military forces and protected our nation and its interests in every way. I don’t believe this warrants your referring to me as a pacificist.

That is such an awesome paragraph. I'm just in awe that Miller provoked this kind of response from Carter, such a polite "You are full of it" kind of response.

"Jimmy Carter, among the worst and most ineffective Presidents of the Twentieth Century."

He is among the worst of any century, IMHO

Gosh...I'm sure Zell is going to miss having Carter as a friend. Fortunately, lifesized cardboard cutouts of Jimmy are available at his library and make a superb substitutes.

Exactly! Zell just said that the reason he was at the Republican Convention, the reason he was supporting George W. Bush is because he feels it is in the best interest of his family.

Yes, it is sad. Anyone who keeps up with politics and history knows that the ideals that were once so highly respected in the Democratic party of long ago are now the ideals of TODAY'S REPUBLICAN PARTY. The dims are somewhere way out in left field - NOT representing the general American.

"Great Georgia Democrats who served in the past"

Well Jimmy I guess this leaves you out. By the way, I want to congratulate you on how well you served us; you served us double digit inflation, double digit unemployment, and double digit intrest rates; how you protected us so well during the Iran hostage crisis;

Jimmy if you are so wanting to help the poor, please stay out of my pocket, get all your rich demoncrap friends to divest themselves of all but $100,000. per year or of their millions of dollar incomes, and use that money to feed the poor and build them houses. We, the working class, can't afford your charitable projects anymore.

So Jimmy, just to sum it up, GO AWAY!

One question - what was he smokin' when he said that??

Now that's a pantload!

If Jimmah had had his way, we'd have been throwing rocks at the enemy.

The only thing he did for the military was to push a good pay raise thru for us.

Shoulda known the senile old bastard wanted us to buy our own weapons.

What an ass.

"and, as president, greatly strengthened our military forces and protected our nation and its interests in every way."

How could this man write something like this?? 444 days! We haven't forgotten his lack of leadership when the hostages were held in Iran. Only when Carter was completely and totally defeated by Reagan did they release the hostages. Reagan was willing to fight for Americans and Iran know that...Carter was not and Iran knew that too.

[A]s president, [I, Jimmy Carter] greatly strengthened our military forces and protected our nation and its interests in every way.

AAAAAAAAARRGGHH!!! Where to begin? What he did to our military, how he humbled this country before Iran during the hostage crisis ... To see him shamelessly ignore how his failings harmed his country makes me only further unhappy with him.

Speaking of Age Old Tradition: All presidents up to Jimmy Carter would not criticize the seated President, at least until he was out of office. Jimmy has trashed that tradition. Bad enough he was the worst president in modern history.

Jimmy seems to be more upset at Zell's "disloyalty" to the Dems than Kerry's disloyalty to his country.

Dear (THANKFULLY) former mistaken President Carter,

At one time you professed to be a "Born-Again Christian"...

I can only guess that means you were "born again" in the "Reverend Barry Lynn's" church of homosexual marriage, no God in the pledge, class warfare, welfare forever, steal from anyone rich enough to make over 30K, etc.

You are a disgusting disgrace of a former "President"...

Other than the propaganda machine that is in free fall meltdown that put you into office in the 70's, it's a good thing you will *never* be in office again.

I was in the Navy during the 1980 presidential campaign when Carter made this kind of claim including the largest pay raise the Military had ever seen. This pay raise was passed by Congress over and in spite of Carter's vigorous objections yet he had the raw nerve to claim it while speaking on an aircraft carrier. Instead of vigorous applause you could hear crickets chirping. When takes some doing on a ship I can tell you.

Carter was slime, he is slime now and I don't have much hope for his future.
