Compare it to Okinawa, April 1, 1945 - June 21, 1945:
American losses were over 72,000 casualties, of whom 15,900 were killed or missing, over twice Iwo Jima and Guadalcanal combined. 15,900 killed, 38,000 wounded + 26,000 non combat wounded.
or compare it to the Battle of the Bulge:
81,000 American casualties, including 23,554 captured and 19,000 killed.
May God bless the souls of each and every one of our fallen heros, and may they rest in eternal peace.
Rush has been predicting this for weeks. The sick, twisted MSM would be jumping for joy when the death of Americans in combat hit the benchmark 1000 level. To paraphrase George Patton, "the enemy's guts will be the grease on my tanks." I say, these reporter's glee fit into the same category as Patton's enemies. Damn, I am so pissed off that these people are using American combat veterans for political purposes.
In 2003, the FBI reported 598 murders in Chicago, and 514 murders in Los Angeles, and 597 in New York City alone. Where was CNN's ticker then?
Then add in 149 in Atlanta, 270 in Baltimore, 109 in Columbus, 226 in Dallas, 366 in Detroit, 278 in Houston, 144 in Las Vegas, 126 in Memphis, 109 in Milwaukee, 274 in New Orleans, 109 in Oakland, 348 in Philadelphia, and 241 in Phoenix, and you might get the feeling that the USA is more dangerous than Iraq!

" And frankly, that twerp Tucker is the WORST conservative talking head, bar none."
Which is why CNN keeps him .
Imagine Ron Silver or Dennis Miller across the table from Begala and Carville.
The anticipatory glee all day on CNN has been despicable.
Makes you wonder if they had a Plan B ready to go, if their magic number wasn't reached today.
Wouldn't put it past any of these scumbags.

And Kerry wasted absolutely no time using this patriot's death for his selfish purposes.
Not Clintoon, but Commie News Network.
The more the libs and the media TRY to use Iraq to their advantage, the better it is for Bush. Bring it on. It all reminds us that we're at war, and most American want Bush leading the way.
You know...this is the level they (main stream media) want to take and there is nothing we can do about it....but the 1000th death or 2nd or 2000th means nothing to the survivor's....and to them I want to give my sympathy and also tell them their fallen soldier is not a number to me....they gave the ultimate price for the Freedom we cherish ...and for that I can only begin by saying God bless you and thank you! While I'm at it I would like to make a request...Can CNN list the 3000 people that died on 9/11?...In the order that they died?...enough said!
Those numbers are just staggering, aren't they? I mean, we kinda slide by the Civil War numbers, but this wasn't that long ago.
Do they have pom-pom girls?
Realities of war are not permissible any longer...atleast not under a Republican administration. Better to throw in the towel and be overrun or hide under Kofi Anon's skirt and hope they don't find us.
"Why shouldn't they? It's not some secret that should be tucked away. "
Just seemed that the header & some posters felt that because CNN covered it, the story had a liberal bias to it. I feel it's very noteworthy and disgraceful not to honor our fallen soldiers. It's not a liberal bias to note their sacrifice and passing.
My biggest concern is not how many we have lost, or even how many have been wounded, but how many are GOING TO BE lost or wounded due to the politicization of the war by the Democrats.
Recently we let Al Sadr walk away because he and his henchmen holed up in a mosque. We should have a stated policy that they can not run or hide *anywhere* and if they try that again, flatten the place.
Sure, the moslems will be offended... but they will also think twice about fighting us if they know they can't hide.
As it is, now we have Sadr City lighting up, Fallujah is back on the action list, and we are still fighting people that we once had bottled up. Men are fighting and dying against enemies that were already caught. This pisses me off.
