Bush, in Missouri, defended his decision to go to war, saying "it was right for America and it's right for America now that Saddam Hussein is no longer in power."
In West Virginia, Cecil Roberts, president of the United Mine Workers of America, gave Kerry a rifle as a gift. Kerry, a self-described gun-owner and hunter, quipped: "I thank you for the gift, but I can't take it to the debate with me."

It isn't funny. He is never funny, and now when he tries it is a crime.

Call the Secret Service. Ask "Uh...I know of somebody who joked about bringing a gun to the presidential debates...is he going in any trouble?"
When they ask, "WHO SAID THAT?" just answer "John Forbes Kerry...could you have a chat with him, please?"

What is Brit Hume's e-mail address? Where is the page with all Fox's email addresses on it. I can't seem to locate it....

It is a FEDERAL CRIME to murder the President.
It is also a FEDERAL CRIME to threaten him.
Saying that you want to be able to take a firearm to your debate with him could easily be construed as a threat.
It is also an inducement to others of like mind or on your "side" to signal your desire that they too should use a gun in a debate with President Bush.
Kerry is guilty of a Federal crime - he should be arrested, charged, and tried.
This is not a joke.
There are thousands of deranged, deluded, or ideologically motivated potential assasins out there.
Many would love to please the Democratic nominee, and he now has laughingly motivated them to harm the President.
This is NO joke.
It is very serious.

His comment shows an unbelievable and SERIOUS lack of common sense, decency and most important--an INCREDIBLE lack of GOOD JUDGMENT and maturity! Someone with judgment that mean and unbelievably POOR--has no business in public office--much less Commander-in-Chief.

Man, he must be hopping from place to place on his BUTT, with both his feet firmly inside that arrogant mouth.
No rules apply to him. Even the rules of decency.
If he took 3 weeks off from campaigning, he'd see his poll #s shoot through the roof.

Wasn't there a skit on SNL where someone actually shoots Bush to save the country? Haw haw haw, now that is humor. It was highly offensive and we talked about it here, but "comic license" allowed it.

Kerry is shooting - but has no protective eyewear, no ear plugs and no jacket or vest. Clearly a safe day at the range is all new to him.
