Can't have secret law without secret trials, doncha know.

The solution is simple...
If anyone doesn't want to show I.D. to board a plane...he doesn't have to..
He can walk, drive, swim, bike or crawl.....just not fly..
I can't believe we are still screwing around with these freaking lunatics..

One can not ignore the latest outrage. They learned from the previous acts of other like minded killers. Every time the (fill in) brags about how clever they were outwitting the dim witted (fill in) other killers are reading about it and adapting. I recall hostage holders in SF watching the SWAT team on TV. There are things that should not be widely known or they will have time to study and defeat them,

By no stretch of the imagination is boarding an aircraft owned by a private carrier one of our rights under the constitution. If you want to travel incognito just try to rent a car. Or steal one. Ones tin foil hat paranoia's do not trump my right to life, liberty, and the the pursuit of happiness. Its bad enough I have to squished into those little airline seats.

I'm amazed that most of the replies have focused on the requirement to show id --instead of the point that our government wants to hide from the people the reasons some unelected bureaucrat can dictate a secret law.
If this is "independent, grass-roots conservatism"; roll up the flag and piss on the fire. We're done for.

"Do you... " the judge stumbled; he had not expected it to be that easy. "Do you throw yourself on the mercy of this court?"
"I do not recognize this courts right to try me."
"What?"
Hank Reardon repeated his statement.
"But, Mr. Reardon, this is the legally appointed court to try this particular category of crime."
"I do not recognize my action as a crime."
"But you have admitted that you have broken our regulations controlling the sale of your metal."
"I do not recognize your right to control the sale of my metal."
"Do you mean that you are refusing to obey the law?" asked the judge.
"No. I am complying with the law to the letter. Your law holds that my life, my work and my property may be disposed of without my consent. Very well, you may now dispose of me without my participation in the matter. I will not play the part of defending myself where no defense is possible, and I will not simulate the illusion of dealing with a tribunal of justice."
......
"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We *want* them broken. You'd better get it straight That it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."
