Vandals paint swastikas on tombs in eastern France
Jerusalem Post ^ | Sep. 6, 2004 | ASSOCIATED PRESS

Vandals spray-painted red swastikas and the initials "SS" on four family tombs with Jewish-sounding names in a cemetery in eastern France, police said Monday.

The attack on the small cemetery in Audincourt probably took place late Saturday or early Sunday, police said.

There was no immediate information on who might have been behind the vandalism.

France, which has western Europe's largest populations of Jews and Muslims, has experienced a recent upsurge in anti-Semitic and anti-Arab attacks.

If these are French kids, that is. Many of our young immigrants, are, as you could say, French In Name Only.

Pardon my generalization.

I saw plenty of doped up kids when I was in france, though we have plenty of them here as well.

I'd bet this was the work of idiot kids

Could be, or some of the usual suspects : young muslims, genuine neo-nazis, just freaks.

These days we live in such a twisted and sick world ! The guy who set fire to the jewish social center in Paris last month turned out to be Jewish himself. He had issues with the guys running the center and decided to destroy the place and make it look like an antisemitic attack, can you imagine that ? Sheesh.

Bizarre.

By the way what percentage of the vote would you say is conservative in france?

Do you consider Le Penn radical?

Considering that the demographics show that in 50 years, Muslims will be the majority in France, it's kind of hard to draw the line here.

The majority in 50 years ? Sorry, that's not very realistic. Muslims represent a population of 5 millions out of a total population of 60 millions here...

I realize these things are probably exaggerated to make a story but, for what its worth:

Well, the article has its facts right. While we had zero problem welcoming and assimilating Christian and Jew immigrants from all over the world, the current generation of Muslim immigrants is a pain in the neck.

Their own fathers, who often themselves came to France to work during the economic boom of the 1950s-1970s, and were more or less secular or at least allowed themselves to be secularized have problems with this new generation.
