Electoral College Scoreboard: Bush 305 Kerry 233

The Republicans put together a near flawless convention last week and two national polls show the president with an 11-point national lead. Newsweek has it Bush 54% to Kerry 43% and Time has it Bush 52% Kerry 41%. The convention was a huge success, and these polls show a legitimate bounce, but its very unlikely that President Bush can sustain such a lead. If he does, the Electoral College Scoreboard will be irrelevant as the numbers nationwide will be reflected in the states and President George W. Bush would win in a landslide.

No offense...its way too early.
I'm voting for Bush...but I remember last time when Carl Rove thought he had it wrapped up and we ended up with recounts and almost loosing. It was in all the papers.

President Bush can sustain his lead with little fading cause he IS the real deal. Kerry is just a guy who pivots with the next gust of the political wind.

The number are much closer. Right now Bush 286EV and Kerry 232EV, the rest toss ups.

None taken :) I agree; this is no time to celebrate. Conversely, I moved to Boise a month ago, and just received my spiffy new voter registration card last week. I'm looking forward to punching a chad for Bush.

Bush is up in New Hampshire and he will take it. I think he will take PA, MN and WI. Possibly IA and NM if things move along as I think they will over the next month. Stay tuned.

Yeah; one thing Karl Rove did was he had Bush stop campaigning too early. Gore was in FL at a campaign rally at 4:00 a.m. election day.
It is way too early. This election will ultimately be decided by the fall debates. Anything can happen.

Clinton's wolves are going to make sure its tight so he doesn't take the party down with him. Hillary after all does NOT want to pick up the shattered pieces the day after when she starts running for the White House. They plan to give Bush a scare but the last thing on Earth they want to do is help Kerry to win.
