Bill Clinton spoke with John Kerry from his hospital bed on Saturday night in a 90-minute conversation in which he offered Kerry detailed advice on how to reinvigorate his candidacy... Clinton told Kerry that he should move away from talking about Vietnam... Developing...
Gee, Bubba, thanks for stating the obvious.
Shouldn't Clinton worry more about recovering then doing political talks?
If he moves away from talking about Vietnam, whats he gonna talk about?
Clinton won without stressing his Viet Nam record.
"Clinton, are you questioning my patriotism?"
Oh, THIS will be fun!!!
90 minutes... Bill sure is a talker, or lonely, or...Kerry is desperate.
Wow.. Matt's going off
Clinton: "It is important that once you've started to lie, that you just keep on lying. Don't ever stop because once you do... then the people who believed your lies are going to vote against you."
Kerry: "So I should believe what I am saying is the truth?"
Clinton: "No! They should believe that you believe what you are saying is the truth. Stop being such an ass. It doesn't matter what you believe! Only what they believe you believe!"
Kerry: "Oh... I see... By the way, did you know I was in Cambodia for Christmas?"
Clinton: "Don't mistake me for one of those fools who believes a word you say."
It's done now. Smoke and mirrors won't work. People do remember. And now, with the Russia tragedy, we'll have reason to wonder about being sensitive, too, even more.
I more worried about the nurses who are trying to treat the slickmeister rapist.
On another thread, I had urged prayer for Clinton while he is in surgery. He is really trying hard to make me retract that.
Greenberg's the only one of the three who has much political common sense. Carville is an improvement over Bob Shrum, but a trained dachshund would be an improvement over the idiot Shrum, so that's not saying much. The "brilliance" with which these guys managed Clinton's campaign wasn't due to great political smarts, but great zipper scandal management smarts.
Kerry's problem isn't his zipper, it's that he's trying to be two things: a Howard Dean anti-war candidate, and a Lieberman-esque pro-terror war candidate, at the same time. Carville won't be able to do much to help fix that problem, and even if he did have an idea, the odds are that it would be the wrong one.
Iraq? Loses more?
Domestic issues? Eventually he'll be asked for details beyond his usual statements that he's different than Bush.
I had the same thought:
Beslan hurts Kerry.
win one for the grifter
Clintoon, from his hospital bed: "Get out there, Johnny, and win one for the Zipper."
