Russia parades siege suspect ("I don't want to die. I swear to Allah, I want to live.")

BESLAN, Russia (CNN) -- Russian state-run television says the government has a man in custody who was part of the group responsible for the deadly school siege in Beslan.

The network showed footage of the man, whose name was not given, being heavily guarded by commando forces.

The suspect, who spoke on camera, proclaimed his innocence.

"Of course I pitied the children, I swear to Allah. I have children myself. I didn't shoot. I swear to Allah," he said. "I don't want to die. I swear to Allah, I want to live."

I saw a movie one time, where a member of a particularly sadistic mob who had been apprehended by the police refused to give out any information about his partners in crime, telling the detectives in charge that even the threat of the death penalty wouldn't make him talk. So the detective in charge, who already had a little bit of information on the hoods, threatened to let this guy go, after he'd spread the word around that he had turned testimony on his cohorts.

The thug was terrified understanding what was in store for him and his family as soon as the word got out and he was released, so he BEGGED the cop to please not let him go, and he told everything he knew in exchange for life in prison.

Agreed. You made a good point, but also, being the "slave to 8 cats," sometimes animals "make the best people." These "humans" are in a class by themselves and through their actions they "have graduated" into the "subhuman" category.
