I have a reference of this. In 1462, Mehemed the II invaded the Holy Roman Empire. Not long after, Constantinople fell to the Turks. Rome and the Western European states, weary from the Crusades, were content to allow the Christian European countries to fend for themselves. (Does this sound familiar?)
After Constantinople fell, Mehemed turn his eyes towards Wallachia, which is now Romania. After engaging the Turks in several battles, Vlad Tepes of Dracula (the real one) left a little surprise for the Turks on the frontier. When a vastly superior force of over 100,000 Turks road toward Wallachia and Turgoviste, they were greeted by a forest of over 30,000 Turkish prisoners, impaled on long stakes. The Turks turned right around and rode back to Turkey as fast as they could.
Although Wallachia later fell and Dracula was killed in 1476, the Romanian people to this day think of Prince Vlad as a national hero.

I am sure in that area with that many people watching, they got the right guy. It would not be very hard to do given the circumstances.
Chances of it not being the right guy are nil to none.

From another article:
Alan Kargiyev, university student in Vladikavkaz "Fathers will bury their children, and after 40 days [the Orthodox Christian mourning period]... they will take up weapons and seek revenge."

If this event had occured here in the U.S. and this guy had been shown on TV being escorted by hooded guards and screaming for mercy, right now we would have slimely leftists on Hannity and Colmes making his case.

When I see this creature I think of the scene in SHO GUN where they boil a guy in water.
The chef makes him live and scream in pain for three days.
Let's get a big kettle.
