THE full horror of the Russian school atrocity began to emerge yesterday as traumatised children told horrific tales of stabbed babies and brutal rapes.

It has also emerged that scores of the 323 who died - including many children - had been shot in the back.

While despairing soldiers and rescue workers moved among the growing pile of body bags, it was revealed that an 18-month-old baby had been repeatedly stabbed by a black-clad terrorist who had run out of ammunition.

Other survivors told how screaming teenage girls were dragged into rooms adjoining the gymnasium where they were being held and raped by their Chechen captors who chillingly made a video film of their appalling exploits

They said children were forced to drink their own urine and eat the petals off the flowers they had brought their teachers after nearly three days without food or water in the stifling hot gym.

Their stories came as Russian officials warned that the final death toll of the siege of Middle School No 1 at Beslan in North Ossetia - in which up to 1,200 people were held captive - was likely to be more than 400.

The official toll yesterday stood at 323 which included 156 children, 10 Russian soldiers and two emergency service workers - 35 of the hostage-takers were also killed. Last night 434 people were being treated in hospital with 247 children and 85 adults in a critical condition.

A Russian official said six seriously injured children had been taken to Moscow for treatment.

"One of them is a child, just 18 months old, with many knife wounds," he said.

I am not Catholic...I think this Pope has been a good man, but of late has been taken over by 'handlers'..the man is very ill..too bad Pope's can't just retire. Hopefully the next Pope will be of a strong Christian character and put aside PC to take on this attack against humanity and Christianity. Time will tell.

Your probably right. I guess I just wish that one of them realized the evil they were committing and even if it meant their life, and it did, tried to get out. Of course, that person probably would have tried to save children too or kill his co-conspirators instead of just save his own tail so your thoughts are likely the right ones.

I have in another post compared the Islamo facists to bad fruit. Islam has shown itself incapable of eliminating the pestilence that has caused its tree to bear blighted fruit. They do need a major crop dusting program now or the world will begin chopping the trees like we do with maple blight. They don't have much time either. The world is not patient with these primitives.

I can hardly contain my anger at the lack of media coverage about this! We've heard more about the 2 French journalists being kidnapped. Not to diminish any act of terror, but this is Russia's 9/11 and there's virtually no media coverage at all! Are we too delicate to see what these Islamofacist scum have stooped to? Or is it a deliberate disguising of the level of their depravity?
Shame on the media -- FNC included, who are too busy giving us a raindrop by raindrop weather report in Florida to provide any real news. It's just sick.

We don't need any made up stories to embellish the deeds of the past week. Russia is waking up from its new, non-soviet wonderland. Maybe France, Germany, and Spain can also wake up. America is waking up. If we need to use aesthetics to wake up some people, that's fine, but rational reporting of actual events is enough for most. It is the weekend, of course, and there is little real news on the weekend.

Nice strawman - but you're not going to get anybody (well, any Christians, anyway) to stand up and say, NO, we SHOULDN'T have acted more Christlike.

That being said, it's quite likely that had we done so, the Muslim hordes would have completely overrun the world centuries ago, Armagedddon would have been hastened, and Christ would have called us home long, long ago. That would have been better, anyway.

Suffice it to say, that didn't happen, so here we are. If you want to distinguish between a Crusade, and the pursuit of a military solution to the current problem, that's reasonable. Unfortunately, it looks one and the same to the Muslim world, so splitting that hair may not matter much.
