"What they did was the opposite of lawlessness."

They broke the law, they went to jail for it. Had you been in the jury and voted to find them "not guilty", you would have been guilty of judicial activism.

The mere fact that one segment or another of the community feels justified in breaking the law, does not excuse lawlessness.

Let's say that the community I live in stands together in opposition to laws against marijuana use, and we decide to openly smoke pot.

Did we break the law?

We absolutely did.

The citizens of that town should have planted themselves en masse in front of City Hall and refused to move until something was done by the authorities; that's what sets us apart from Islamic extremists.

Wrong.

When our Government Fails to do It's job it is our Duty to
do it for ourselves.

Vigilante justice is at times necessary.

If it makes you uncomfortable Become a police officer.

My Dad had a good saying "Crap or get off the Pot!"

One of the complaints used by the states as justification for the secession from the British Empire was that "He has obstructed the Administration of Justice ...". This is exactly the case in Syria, Iran, Chechnea, Saudi Arabia, and numerous other Islamic nations. It WAS the case in Iraq and Afghanistan. That is why the US destroyed the governments of the Taliban and the Bathists.

People living in those nations, by their silence, are complicit in the deaths of thousands of Americans, in the deaths of thousands of Israelis, and in the deaths of hundreds of Russians,

The US was not lawless in overthrowing the Taliban. We were not lawless in killing combatants in Afghanistan. The US was not lawless in overthrowing the bloody regime in Iraq. We were not lawless in killing the enemy there, either.

The citizens of these countries would also be justified in killing those who murder the innocent. Justice is not going to be served by their governments. And mealy mouthed apologies this late in the bloodbath are meaningless.
