Seminar Callers on Talk Radio for Friday (Vanity)
Posted on 09/04/2004 1:26:05 AM PDT by Truthsearcher
Talking to some of my friends about the various talk radio shows we listen too, we noticed a distinctive type of caller who showed up on the various shows on Friday.
They all claim to be "undecided" about who to vote for, and the 2 things they would all bring up is the "5 deferrals" by Dick Cheney followed by "George Bush promised in 2000 he would be a uniter and not a divider, yet this country is more divided than ever".
Neither of these arguments seem to be the type of thing a true undecided would focus on, because they sound more like partisan criticism. I think this is clearly the new new tact of the Kerry campaign seminar callers.
So did whatever radio show you listened to on Friday have callers who had the same talking points?

We get the same thing here.
"I voted for Bush last time, but there's no way I can..."
To: Truthsearcher
It is a twist of the "I voted for it before I voted against it theme" used by J. FlipFlop Kerry

Rush several months ago had a great seminar caller. She kept saying "I've been a registered Republican all my life" and then kept hitting on but she thought the 9/11 reference in Bush's commercial was horrible.
Rush asked her if Kerry exploiting the Viet Nam war is a commercial was the same. She said yes. He then played her one.
She got extremely flustered, said it WASN'T the same at all and raised her voice and said, "I've been an registered Demo-(quick catch) Republican all my life---"
It was hysterical.

It's pretty tough to unite a people when only one side has a desire for unity. It's impossible for anyone who's not been there to comprehend how deadly the DC political climate is. Nothing demonstrates this any better than what the shameless Democrats did to protect Bill Clinton from being held accountable for his actions. Starting with his haircut that tied up Los Angeles air traffic for two hours and stretching through eight long years of pilfered FBI files, mysterious deaths, missing Rose law firm billing records, sale of missile guidance technology to China, repeated campaign finance irregularities (to put it mildly), White House travel office scandals, oval office sex romps, shutting down the federal government and blaming it on the other guys, to his out-the-door pardons for fun and profit there was hardly an honest moment during his entire administration. And yet there was a steady stream of Democratic politicians singing his praises. On the very day he was impeached VP Gore told the world Clinton was the greatest president in American history. President Bush's promise to unite the country was made on the assumption that the other side desired unity for the good of the country. Wrong! All they wanted was their power back and they didn't care how they got it, even if it meant imperiling the very country they claim to love.

Yes, here in Baltimore, the afternon show was hosted by a substitute, aconservative, who has a very popular Saturday show.
The first caller - it seemed like it was only about 10 minutes after 3 - went right into this riff.
The host then exposed him as giving a prepared text
- it was not what the caller had told the screener
- the host repeated all the points to convince his audience that they were the talking points of the day, and said there would be no more calls of that variety on his show. Badda-bing!

This same host just announced (Saturday morning) that he was sent a copy of the DNC email sent around after Thursday night, listing the talking points.
He was talking to a regular, liberal spokesman. This lib's reaction to the email was "Yeah, both sides do it."
I haven't gotten my talking points yet. Have you?

"I've been a registered Republican all my life..."
I've heard radio hosts get into it with this type of caller over the past few years. I just love it when they ask the caller "Did you vote for Dole in 96?" NO. BUT... "Did you vote for Bush in 92?" NO. BUT... "Did you vote for Reagan in 84?" NO. BUT... "Did you vote for Reagan in 80?" NO. BUT...
By then they usually hang up because they know they've been exposed.

The other day I got into a discussion okay, argument with a liberal friend at work who was claiming that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and ALL the other Conservative Talk Show hosts receive GOP or Bush-Chaney Talking Points each day.
I told him he was out of his mind and that Rush and Sean are completely independent of the GOP.
To: maica
I heard that call. He mentioned three specifics, which I can't currently recall. At the time, I did recall hearing at least two other callers over the past several days list the same three items, in exactly the same order.
You would think that those idiots would try a little nuance.
