Ziad Akir, who heads the Athens Islamic Center at 13 Stewart St., doesn't have "solid evidence" the center is being watched. But no one at the center knows who owns the black SUV that frequently has been seen parked in their lot.
"(One member) claims that there is strange equipment on the car with flashing indicators. I don't know for sure, but it may be a possibility," said Akir speculating on whether someone may be spying on the center.
Some may scoff at Akir's claim as a bout of paranoia during trying times for Arab Americans and those whose faith is Islam. Think again, advises another prominent Ohio Muslim, who contends he has heard of similiar complaints from nearly every mosque in the state.
"We hear of mosques being spied on, being watched, quite frequently," said Jad Humeidan, director of CAIR Ohio. CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) is considered one of Muslim America's most influential non-profits.
He said that the identity of whoever is conducting the surveillance remains a mystery. And if the mystery is nothing more than a perceived -- as opposed to real -- threat, it appears justified for Arab Americans during the post-9/11 era of fear.

We have a muslim center right here in my hometown and I hope and pray that it and it's membership are being surveiled.
To the American Muslims: I don't hate you. I don't hate your religion. But until you stand with me and publicly condemn the actions of some of your church's members, I don't trust you. I may even fear you. But what I fear, I will do my best to eliminate from my world.

I've actually thought of doing that (checking out the local mosque). A few months ago, an article appeared in the Peoria IL newspaper that stated that the FBI had alerted Peoria authorities that AQ was using Peoria and Champaign, IL as major stopping off points for their people infiltrating from the west coast. The reason for this is apparently because both towns are university towns and it is therefore easier for middle easterners to blend in. The local Champaign newspaper and tv stations never picked up the story. Pretty sad, huh?

From Canada, across the border - bypass Detroit (too obvious) - shoot straight down I-75 - bypass Toledo (small front group Mosques there) - stop in Perrysburg (build the biggest fortress within 100 miles) - yes, establish your rural magnet in a corn field. It IS a fortress in suburbian/rural OH. I surely hope it is being watched.
We shouldn't be allowing them into the country. And we should have done much more to beef up security along the borders. They don't have to come in legally when they can come in illegally.

Please don't kid yourself,unless you yourself are a Muslim. Have you ever seen a Muslim woman walk side-by-side with here husband, much less in the lead? Have you ever seen boy and girl Muslims interact on the play ground with one another? Have you ever seen a woman inside of a Mosque? Just because there are three generations of true Muslim believers in the USA, you are naive to believe that they are not carrying out their "Master's Plan" to annihilate us. I suspect the 6 young men in the sleeper cells in NJ, the high jackers of 9/11 and the Bin Laden family all paid their taxes and blended well into our society. BFD! We accepted them as good people, only to have them kill 3,000 Americans and change the lifestyle we all enjoyed before 9/11. It' time for you to rethink your priorities. As one young Muslim teen confided in me, "Don't Trust Any Muslim"! She was a bright girl, but there is nothing she can do to change the Muslim way of thinking. If you haven't notice,the Muslim "religion" is dictated by Men and the consequences for disobeying the rules are EXTREME.
