The Dave Matthews Band, which is raising money to defeat President Bush by touring the country with his concerts, will appear at Bryce Jordan Center at the public Penn State University in State College, Pa. early next month.
WPHT 1210 am radio host Dom Giordano, who brought up the information, on Friday said he does not think Penn State would be a proper place for such a polarizing political rally considering that the school is partly taxpayer funded.
The president of the University said he feels there is nothing wrong with Matthews' anti-Bush concert.
Concerts that raise voter awareness are good for the voting process, the university president said, according to Giordano.
Alumni of Penn State might feel differently and were expected to begin contacting the university.
Given the recent news about the band dumping sewage on a Chicago tour boat, we should all refer to this as the Dave Matthews Band "Two Johns are Full of Crap!" Tour.
Mojo.....did you hear Dom say something about an announcement from the Swift Boats guys next week?
Eh..who?
Was the "dumping charge" cleared up?
Aw Jeez, not this %^&&* again....
My son went to Penn State, and this Matthews thing really burns me up.
As soon as I find the University president's name and number, I am firing off a letter followed by a phone call.
If these nudnik musicians want to launch into tirads against President Bush, they should be forced to do it on private property, not taxpayer funded schools.
Yeah. The Swifties are holding a press conference in Washington DC on Tuesday to make a big announcement.
I already went to their site but found no details.
Isn't there another site with SwiftVet info, like Vietnam Vets Against John Kerry or something like that.
Who sang the song that has lyrics that go something like......
Money for nothing
and tricks for free
There was also some mention of MTV in the song.
Thanks for indulging me.
Your tax dollars at work.
Folks Mojo here heard the same thing...
Actually, their are 228 passengers who can attest that Matthews is not full of crap.
Way to go Dave!
Dave who?
Dire Straights. Money for Nothing, chicks for free.
What I heard has been confirmed by MojoWire....Mojo hear the announcement also..
Heads up the Swifties are holding a news conference next Tuesday in DC......see post 8.
That print is too small...one must use larger font to get noticed on here.
It wasn't enough to take his crap to Chicago, so now he has to take it to Penn State?
