Yes. The key is to make the changes that will forever alter the country's course, without it being all that obvious that the course is changed, while at the same time, announcing that the course is changing.

Think what you want. Democrats in the 1930s said "FDR doesn' want to create a welfare state! Gimme a break." Look at the rhetoric, which ALWAYS is a signpost to reality.

Glad you bring up presc. drugs. Eveyone knows that with or without prescrip. drugs, Medicare is bankrupt. Except . . . one little clause that Bush snuck in about private competition for health services, which, as many of us always knew, was the only hope for the system anyway.

NAIL!! NAIL!! You got it. This was FDR's strategery: change the direction while "saving" capitalism. Don't be obvious. In a journey of 1000 miles, a one-degree change in the tiller can lead to at totally different destination.

So he knows Medicare is bankrupt, and expanded the entitlement anyway. That's some conservative.

Med. wasn't going to change on its own. He put an "antibody" in it that, over time, will heal it. Glad you noticed.

With a Cabinet stuffed full of Democrats, the President is going to "Bury the New Deal"?
Have you changed your theme and become a comic?

This is correct. Liberals are so busy looking for nuance
and 'what things represent', 'the beginnings of a process'
and 'sending a message', that they are repeatedly caught
off guard by something said and done in plain sight.
To liberals, what Bush is doing is a stealth approach.
Also works on other areas like abortion.
