On September 3, CNN senior political analyst Bill Schneider characterized as "name-calling" Senator John Kerry's response to attacks leveled at him during the Republican National Convention. Kerry delivered his response in a speech at midnight September 3.
From an exchange between Schneider and anchor Wolf Blitzer on the September 3 edition of News From CNN:
SCHNEIDER: And a lot of Democrats are saying, "At last, John Kerry is responding"-- something they wanted him to do weeks ago because he more or less lost the month of August when he was getting beaten up by these independent ads. So they're saying they're welcoming his fighting back. But I think he has to get off that message soon, because this election really shouldn't become a name-calling campaign. He has to talk about Bush's record and about his own agenda.
BLITZER: Some Republicans were suggesting to me at the convention last night that, in effect, they were baiting John Kerry on these issues and that he took the bait. And they're happy he is because they think that this is going to backfire against him.
SCHNEIDER: That's why I say he has to get off this name-calling quickly. He responded, punched in the nose, now go on to something else. And the reason is, his best issue is that George Bush has divided the country even after he promised he'd be a uniter. Well, Kerry can't look like he's going to divide the country even more.
There ARE two Americas. Each has its own John "Effin'" Kerry.
Funny, but he's mad at the SBVT but refuses to address them directly and head-on. Instead, he yells at George Bush who has done nothing to Kerry but say nice things to him.
He needs a campaign shake up - Big Time.
I still fail to see how bringing up his voting record is name calling.
For once, insightful points by Schneider.
CNN? Yes, as predicted, the MSM sharks are starting to smell the blood in the water.
the only campaign shakeup what would work is getting a brand new candidate.
If they walk like a loser, talk like a loser, and look like a loser, they're probably a loser.
'Each has its own John "Effin'" Kerry.'
My John "Effin" is better than yours!
"How dare, how dare you question my... Now get the f*ck out of my way! Do you know who I am? I am John Kerry."
Nah, He talking about Kerry name calling.
Schneider is a first class a-hole. Anyone with eyes and a brain in their head, has seen Ted Kennedy's, Tom Daschle's, the Clinton mob's, and the rest of the rat cabals behavior toward the President, and knows this comment to be demonstrably FALSE.
must be down...

Punched in the nose? Just who did he punch in the nose. I saw him wildly flailing, but I never saw him make contact.
Wow. If that Rat is willing to call a spade a spade, then the rats must be deserting a sinking ship.
Yeah Snide-r (not sp), give skerry advice. The problem is that this IS the REAL skerry, a nasty, vicious, mean, ugly, gigilo, EVil Dum.
"George Bush has divided the country even after he promised he'd be a uniter."
Hey, you can lead a jackass to water, but you cannot make him drink.
The polarization that Clinton's disrespect for the presidency started may have festered during Bush's watch, but it was Daschle et al and the nasty liberal media who are responsible.
This was reported by and commented on John Gibson on his show today in the segment called "My Word."
Just shows how devastating Zell Miller's speech was to Kerry. The Dems are desperate. They see the handwriting on the wall: DOOM for John "Effing" Kerry and his running mate the Breck Girl.
