Shortly after the situation erupted at the scene of the hostage crisis in the North Ossetian town of Beslan, the area around the school was described as chaotic, with one suspected terrorist attacked by the crowd.

A reporter with Britain’s Sky News described how vigilantes attacked one of the suspected rebels. She said special forces brought out a man on a stretcher and the crowd moved as one and began to attack him.

The soldiers made a token effort to protect him but they have no control, the reporter said.

The chaos is thought to have assisted up to 13 of the hostage-takers to flee the school and hole up in a residential building nearby.

A correspondent from the BBC who is at the scene also called the situation in the streets in the aftermath of the storming as “pandemonium”.

Television pictures showed scores of bloodied children in a state of undress milling around armored personnel carriers as soldiers provided water and first aid. The sound of gunfire could be heard in the background.

A number of the released hostages have reportedly avoided going to hospital, Gazeta.Ru says, further confusing any attempt at a head count by authorities.

You think our courts aren't a joke? Remember Willie Horton? How about Mumia Abu-Jamal? The ACLU and assorted leftists basically control the courts in this country. We have embezzlers doing longer sentences than hard-core killers and child molesters. Is that justice?

Even so, I do actually agree with you that a judicial process is a real recessity - especially before someone is to be put to death. As some have pointed out, lynch mobs have this nasty habit of grabbing the wrong person in a higher-than-acceptable percentage of cases. What if this guy was one of the parents of the childen who was trying to fight the terrorists? What if his kids were survivors?

Those actually guilty of this monstrosity deserve no mercy whatsoever. I can hardly secribe the cold fury I felt when I saw the photos of dead children laid out before weeping parents on a related thread - wosre than that at seeing the beheadings of innocents taken captive by these demons. Nevertheless, it's still wrong to punish the truly innocent.

The folks who cheer and pass out candy at news of something like this are not innocent, by the way. Through their actions, they bear at least a share of moral responsibility for the evil.

No I do belive that our courts are a joke...We have gone from protecting the victim to protecting the accused. But in comparison to other legal systems... except the U.K. (England has ir right...Tort reform is the way to go.)... The one here is better than most. Our current legal system and its structure fly in the face of the constitution. all the way up to the supreme court. When you have judges on the Bench that rule on personal political opinion or bias. the systems is flawed and needs to be restructured. The other thing is that we need to take the money out of the legal systems. Not say that people cannot sue for what they think is wrong, but institute caps on awards, and make the lawyers work for the case and the client and not the $$$$ that he/she sees coming afterwords. So our justice system a joke... YES....But it is the only one we have and it needs to be reformed.

the terrorists need to learn the fear of infidels in a state of "backlash".

they understand dead.
and that's it.
the more brutal the death, the greater the depth of understanding they can achieve.

I can only hope they used a tall tree and a fifteen foot rope. the drop would rip his head off and send the showers upward on his way down.

Russia won't sit on their hands on this, or will they?

People letting their emotions run away with them is the cause of most trouble in the world.

Yes, let's not let emotion carry us away when 200 young, innocent children are slaughtered by ghouls.

Temperance, moderation, and sensitivity are what's called for here.

It's too bad the guy was lynched before the KGB had a chance to interrogate him. Interrogate first, lynch later!

The goons feel that that they are able to pull off this kind of crap with out retribution, even if they die. They just need to get some news crews together get the muslem corpses and haul them out the the nearest hog farm and dump them into the manure pits. Then get the media to distribute the tapes world wide of the disposal of the bodies and that crap will end.

I am against lynching and want court action before killing someone.

That said, sometimes people do what they gotta do. Some people just need killing.

"I would bet they have a great idea which people are the terrorists and which are innocent citizens."

School moms know the school staff. Even in a large school, a crowd of school moms can get together and quickly ID who doesn't belong to the staff.

Nicely stated. (Though England's criminal justice is riddled with PC idiocy as well - their tort system is certainly more reasonable.) In the county where I live, doctors are fleeing and hospitals are closing thanks to the antics of the trial lawyers. It's a complete disaster. We do indeed need serious reform.
