WASHINGTON -- The British submarine skipper Bill Jewell, 90, who died Aug. 18 in suburban London, had a vital role in one of the more macabre and celebrated clandestine operations of World War II -- using a corpse planted with fake documents to fool Nazi intelligence.
Operation Mincemeat, as the wartime plan was known, was shrouded in such secrecy that not even Mr. Jewell's after-the-fact memoir noted the caper.

WASHINGTON -- The Former US President Bill Clinton, 58, who has heart surgery 09/04 in NY City, had a vital role in one of the more macabre and celebrated clandestine operations, MonicaGate -- using a corpse planted with fake documents to fool Hillary into thinking he was sleeping soundly on the White House couch.
Now, imagine Kerry planning a similar wartime mission...
I didn't read the story, but they had to find someone who died of pneumonia, because they knew the Nazis would find out he didn't have water in h is lungs, as anyone would if they drowned.
Pneumoniacs have water in their lungs.
Thanks for posting this wonderful story.
''The Man Who Never Was," Great movie...go rent it. You won't be sorry.
Clifton Webb played the lead, I believe...
From newly release declassified 1971 Senate Testimony from John Kerry:
Kerry: "The only way in infultrate the Khmer Rouge in 1968 was to fool them into thinking that we were going to invade them. But how? Then someone....I mean.... then I remembered the WWII story of how Bill Jewell fooled the NAZI's with a dead body that contained phony invasion documentation.
My unit decided to do the same thing. I voted that we all draw straws to decide who would go in as a corpse. My men in unison volenteered me to go in. It must of been my brave leadership that was the reason they voted for me to go in."
Senator:"Mr. Kerry isn't it true they voted for you because in real life you look like a corpse?"
Kerry: "Umm....not that I remember. Anyways my men bravely prepared me for the bravery role of a life time. Almost all of my men on my boat volenteered to cut me up good to make my body look realistic as if I had been really mutilated.
So my crew mates placed bricks in my pockets to weigh me down in the water, until I remembered that I would have to be floating. Some of my men were disappointed that I overruled their plan, but my Swift Vets commrads in arms were more than happy to throw me overboard and leave me there, then they hauled ass out of there as quickly as possible."
Senator: "Then what happened Mr. Kerry?"
Kerry: "I floated in leach infeasted waters, with leaches gnawing on my purple heart wounds as well as my testicles. I laid there on the beach lifeless for several days. Unfortunatly it did not work"
Senator: "Why is that Mr. Kerry"
Kerry: "Because I lost all bearings in the water. The tide took me back into Vietnam, right by our navy port. I finally after several days realized where I was and got up and reported back to my C.O. To my surprise several of my Band of Brothers said they knew I was there, but didn't want to spoil the surprise if the Khmer Rouge decided to attack Vietnam." I applied for a medal, but the navy does not recognize floating corpses for anything."
I have only seen a reference to this matter 1 time on FR.com, but Kerry wearing those ribbons in the way that he did was a violation of military protocol. I recall when I left the Army, I was informed of Military clothing regulations. I was informed that I was obliged to not use my military emblems while a civilian. I promptly pulled all of the patches off my uniforms and fatigues. I believe that this is what the Military required. I still have most of my fatigues and Class As, but the patches (never mind the ribbons) have all been pulled off of them.
I have long wondered why Kerry disregarded those same regulations. I now believe that he was preparing for this place of political ambition where he is today. The Senator, Kerry has been single mindedly driven to get to this place where he now is. I suppose that some might admire such drive, but I consider him to be obsessive, and dangerous.
He still aspires to the highest office despite the fact that he has been proven to have no regard for rules of any sort. Kerry is shameless, and he is scum. Shameless is not so bad a thing by itself, but at this level of politics, it is quite frightening. That is simply my opinion!
