The best way to understand journalism is thatAnd that is political correctness in a nutshell. It is also a de facto conspiracy, although there will be scarcely as much as a wink or a nod involved.
- the first thing they do is get a printing press or a news program on radio or TV.
- And the second thing they do is write up a Code of Ethics and tack it up on the wall, to point to whenever they are challenged.
- And the third thing they do is to ignore that code of ethics and simply smear anyone who doesn't pay tribute and doesn't have the power to smear back effectively. Those who do have that power, they get along and go along with.
But the main point is that it is patently not "in the public interest" to broadcast decietful lies. And therefore the point of attack against it would logically be the FCC. I hope to see the day when the Republican Party or an individual Republican fat cat of some kind actually sues the FCC and its licensees over this sort of thing, which is free advertising for the Democratic Party. And sue the FEC at the same time.
