May he recover, see Your mighty hand of mercy and turn to you and serve You for the remainder of his life. Lord, use this situation as You see fit as You love this man so much that You died for him and desire his fellowship as much as you do that of others. I pray that his will be a life that is changed and used mightily as a testament to Your awesomeness and bring many to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.

My 81-year-old uncle had a quad bypass and was out jogging again a very short time later. Not sure whether he's back to his daily 2 hours of tennis yet.

I do wish Bill Clinton a successful surgery and healthy outcome.

I don't think that you would get that many medical personal to participate in such a charade. And Hillary would have been around for the cameras. No, this is real. However, I have to think that if his heart is worse than everyone thinks and Kerry dives in the poles, if the dems switched HIllary with Kerry, she might get into the WH on a sympathy vote. I would hope that the dems would never stoop to something like that, but it's a sobering thought.

I can not believe that I am praying for Bill Clinton, but I am. Mind you, this is from a person who once used a calculator to figure out the % of my life that Bill Clinton was President,(those 8 years seemed to last forever...) At that point, my husband began to question my sanity. I do hope he recovers.

I had one of these two years ago. Luckily for me though, I was aged 42 on vacation in a country with socialized medicine with the wife and three kids /sarcasm

The socialized system there (the UK) could only give me Morphine and hope for the best. After three days I got a privately provided angiogram and learnt just how badly off I was.

Thanks to some sort of divine intervention, I was able to get angioplasty back here in Boston some five weeks later and was left with only minor scarring of the heart muscle.

BTW, my heart attack hurt more than anything I could imagine

If BJC has had anything like that, I really do have sympathy for him. You would too.

Supposedly the Kerry staff knew about this for a couple of days and didn't want to spoil the Republicans convention by releasing the news that B C was having "medical issues" and had decided not to go on the campaign trip with Hillery. I find this very hard to believe. And what real wife wouldn't have canceled the trip to stay with her husband? We definitely know he did not have a heart attack and this was not an emergency. Because of chest discomfort, tests were scheduled and found blockage...so the NYT was wrong in their release. CNN says that they will do the surgery tomorrow.

I hope that he has successful surgery and a speedy recovery. I am a little surprised that some of you are making classless jokes about a guy in his situation. Yes, he was a horrible president. But the last 4 years of listening to the outright evil things being said about both GWB and Ronaldus Magnus has made me decide that I do not ever want to be like the people spewing that venom. President and Mrs. Bush are classy people and I want that perception to apply to me too. Besides, making mean jokes is what those DUmbasses do.

You HAVE to if you are going to keep humanity and decency on our side. You hold your personal feelings in check and send up a prayer for a human being's recovery. We need to be above the disregard for human lives displayed by even Clinton himself.

Another person on this thread said that people can have moral conversions through brushes with death. G-d may not have finished with him here yet.
