Everybody pray for The Thing. I bet Hitlery isn't. Absolutely don't want any clinton funeral.

Aren't the Democrats lucky? What a perfect time to take back the spotlight. Just this past weekend Clinton was campaigning for Kerry and signing books, as the media puts it -energized and upbeat- However, 11 point-bounce for GW can be attributed to his heart problems as of late. No one in the media is talking about the convention or GW's speech, only about Clinton. By Labor Day, people won't remember what GW said.
Clinton will do just fine, and live for another 30 years, but I wonder if he could've done this before the Republican Convention, or sometime later. Knowing how he operates, I'm confident he didn't need to do this TODAY.

Gee, let's see how this would go over on television:
"In other words, he could be a rapist, psychopath and a sonofabitch from time to time".
Cute. Except that if Bush said something like that on national television, he would be attacked mercilessly and probably lose the election.
What you don't understand is that when you attack a sick man, you arouse sympathy for him. I know that Clinton raped Juanita Broderick! I know that he turned around and bombed the innocent in the Sudan!
But if everyone believed as you and I do about the man, he would have been ridden out of town on a rail. Instead, he left office with 60% approval ratings.
Think strategically: if you attack Clinton on his sick bed, you look mean and petty to Joe Sixpack out there. The object of the exercise is to get Joe to vote for Bush in November, not to give John Kerry an excuse for another attack of faux outrage.
Bill Clinton, whatever his faults, was President of the United States. No one is forcing you to respect the man, but you should respect the office, even if he didn't. It's smart politics.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
