Has anyone yet figured out where John Edwards spent the Vietnam war years?
No- despite the baby face, he was NOT in grammar school.

John Edwards is the same age as my husband, give or take a month, both were born in 1953. From what my husband told me, no one born in 53 was drafted.
My husband enlisted, Edwards didn't.

Has anyone yet figured out where John Edwards spent the Vietnam war years? Edwards attended "North Carolina State University where he graduated with high honors in 1974 and then earned a law degree with honors in 1977 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill."

No- despite the baby face, he was NOT in grammar school. Edwards turned 18 in 1971 and the draft was starting to wind down then.

Has anyone yet figured out where John Edwards spent the Vietnam war years? According to Kerry, he was in diapers.

Has anyone yet figured out where John Edwards spent the Vietnam war years? He was in college and yes he was avoiding the draft
But what I would like to know is the story behind why his scholarship fell through after he went to college?

He was born the same year as I was and there was no-one from my class who was my age who was drafted. There were a few older guys in our class who were but none our age. So I think he is in the same place as Cheney only on the other side.

Wasn't he busy in college '70 - '74 getting some degree or the other so he could go on and become a great ambulance chaser? Actually, I guess he COULD have gone on to Vietnam, if he hadn't had to preserve his litigation viability.

John Edwards is 2 years older than me, I got my number in 1969, so that would have made Edwards eligible in 1966 or 1967. I would imagine he was using his deferment to go to college about that time.
