Big surprise. Greater than 90% of the MSM will vote for Kerry. The double standard should not surprise anyone from Free Republic. Fortunately the MSM doesn't decide the election and most people in the heartland are smarter than that.

During the Democratic Convention, President Bush layed low, in order to show respect to his opposition. The respect was not returned.

And we're surprised because......? Methinks this falls in the category of "Duh! What did you expect? Class?!?!"

Sadly, these past few years has shown just how rediculous is; should you expect even the smallest respect or civility to be squeezed from a 'Demrat'.

The only way not to be shocked or disappointed by these shabby-souled people is, of course, to expect NOTHING from them, that even resembles 'respect' or civility. . .

. . .or anything, for that matter, that would otherwise resemble an honest virtue.

Thank you for posting this. I've been mad about it all week! I thought the hoity-toities of Boston were supposed to have impeccable manners. Hah! I'm very proud to see that the highest class is coming from my own state of Texas! And while I'm listing my gripes for the week, who is that ditzy-blonde democratic strategist that Fox keeps interviewing who thinks this is the most negative group of people that she has ever seen? She must not have gone to their convention! She must not turn on the news unless she's on it. I mean someone needs to shut this girl up!

Okay, I will just say it. There are certain so called members of the leadership of the DNC who I believe with all of my heart are out to destroy this country. They do not like our form of government or our constitution. The Clinton's and John Kerry are just three of them that I am talking about. Call me a tin foil hatter if you please, but I think they are Marxists, and they want to change this government to their utopia.

That's okay, because we coerced them into playing "nice" at their convention. Then we had ours and bit them in the @ss! I have been ROFLMAO all week. They just looked so shocked! Shocked I tell you!

My reflex thought on seeing Kerry's remarks is a bumper sticker reading "Kerry=K***". He is a despicable POS - and when you think about it, the agony of this egotistical bastard will be more intense, but maybe less vocal, than that of Al Gore. Especially if he loses by the deserved 8-10 points.

"During the Democratic Convention, President Bush layed low, in order to show respect to his opposition. The respect was not returned."

Actually, presidential cantidates lay low during the oppositions convention not out of respect, but common sense. They know that the attention is all on the convention, so they take a break. Campaigning during the opposition's convention is a waste of time and money. John Kerry did not show disrespect during our convention. The proper term for what he showed is desperation.

This was one of Zell Miller's main points: that the Democrat Party has devolved to the place where they are treasonously trying to bring down a sitting president during a war, not because he is damaging America, but for purely political reasons. Rush Limbaugh pointed out in his interview the other night with Greta von Sostern that the Democrats couldn't have given the speaches that we have heard from the RNC this week, because for them to thrive, bad things have to happen to America: the stock market must fall, more Americans must die in droves, etc. While the RNC has been going on this week, sometimes on CSPAN-1, CSPAN-2 has been playing old speaches by the likes of LBJ and Bill Clinton. Was this "alternative programming" for the koolaid-drinking Democrats that couldn't be caught dead listening to the other side of arguments? After the evening's major speach block, it seemed like all but Fox could hardly wait to cut to Kerry and Edwards at their manufactured counter events to get their instantaneous reactions.

"All these inconsistancies lead me to the same conlcusion, the respect for the truth, our nation, our people, and in some cases even themselves, is non-existant"

I loved reading this from Dick; but am somewhat amazed. . .

How could Dick be 'so late smart' when it comes to these scrabby-souled, that inhabit the Demrat party; a Party he shared the table with for soooo long? Better than too-late smart, for sure; but nonetheless; a surprise. Sounds like a genuine 'enlightenment' going on here.

I did resent, however; Dick's dismissive comments about Cheney and his speech as well. (Maybe he will have more appreciation; per his 'second thoughts'; for the integrity of Cheney and his committment to GW and to America.)
