New York Daily News ^ | 9/2/2004 | DAVID EPSTEIN

On the eve of President Bush's address to the nation, the Daily News has uncovered alarming breaches in security at the Republican National Convention. The News learned yesterday that delegates and guests were freely handing out unused passes.

A News reporter investigated - and within five hours he was inside Madison Square Garden to catch Vice President Cheney's speech.

Even more shocking, the pass was obtained without anyone asking for or checking on the reporter's identity.

If someone already posted this, I apologize, but I did a search and nothing came up.

This explains all the gate crashers.

Millions are crashing through our borders causing epic social and economic chaos, not to mention the crime and fraud, so I am not going to get to excited about this.

Well, hopefully the Einsteins over in security there will wise up and start checking ID's. Heads should roll over this - but no doubt won't.

Maybe Bush can throw some more Homeland Security gov't money at the problem, seeing as how $40+ Billion hasn't stopped breaches like this.

Create more gov't - that'll work!

</sarcasm

"cockroaches have been around since the beginning of time."

Are you referring to the idiot delegates giving their passes to strangers or the strangers?

One of the idiots was Medea Benjamin (?) from Pink Code.
It was good to see her butt hauled out of the Garden.

My complaint is why protestors like her get free passes from the law. If they increased the fees to get out of jail to $2,000, they would all still be in jail. Out of work people don't have $2,000.

Sounds like they are doing everything they can to sneak in.

Do you think "certificado de matricula convencion" cards could be issued, since we want to have order, but still be inclusive?

It's not just that. She was already arrested earlier in the day at the Fox News protest. Yet she made it out of jail in time to try to disrupt the convention that night. And besides, she's a well-known lefty; how did she make it into the convention hall in the first place?

And the idiot from last night was her co-Pinko, Gael Murphy; both of them very visible spokesbroads for their leftist group, Code Pinko. It's still beyond me why/how security didn't recognize (was there no photo watch-list available to all security folks?) these two marxist hags.

I hope the security guys have a better handle on things tonight.

I read on the live thread last night that some judge up there was going to let out all the jailed protesters at midnight last night. I guess he wanted them to get a good night's sleep in preparation for their night of violence tonight.

As I said last night, I wonder how much Terry McAuliffe paid for that judicial decision?

That's because the Homeland Security money is going to rural Nebraska, Iowa, and Kansas to protect the nation's strategic cornfields.

There's "security," and then there's security.

The sort of security that let the like of Medea Benjamin onto the floor is a matter of identification. The lass is loud and obnoxious, but that does not present a physical danger to anyone.

The sort of security that would allow somebody to actually harm the President is a far different matter. Ms. Benjamin (nor anybody else) is going to get past that type of security with anything resembling a weapon.

This is a non-issue.
