In his first major foreign-policy action as a U.S. senator nearly 20 years ago, John Kerry accused the United States of "funding terrorism." Fresh from a trip to the Far East, Kerry made his sensational allegation in Washington before flying to Nicaragua, then in the grip of a Marxist-Leninist junta, to coauthor a propagandistic peace proposal designed to disarm the U.S.-backed forces fighting to oust the Soviet-backed Sandinista regime.
Barely three months after being sworn as a senator, Kerry made his mark, and he made it big, as one of the leading opponents of President Ronald Reagan's effort to defeat Soviet-sponsored revolutionaries in the American hemisphere. The junior senator stopped at nothing: working with the nation's sworn ideological enemies, making damaging, distorted and often baseless allegations about U.S. covert operations, accusing his own government of sponsoring terrorism, and even damaging an FBI operation against a Colombian cocaine cartel.

As a freshman senator, Kerry took it upon himself to negotiate with Daniel Ortega, fight funding to the Contras, bribe informants, interfere with the FBI and DEA drug investigations, and so on.
What he did in Vietnam, he did in Nicaragua, which is what he is trying to do in Iraq--side with the enemy against his own government and country.

"Once in office in 1985, Kerry acted on his words. He held a news conference accusing the U.S. government of financing terrorism. "Foreign policy should represent the democratic values that have made our country great, not subvert those values by funding terrorism to overthrow the governments of other countries," Kerry said in a statement. He announced he and Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) would go to Managua, the Nicaraguan capital. The pair of Vietnam-era radicals held two days of secret talks with Sandinista junta leader Daniel Ortega, timing the visit just before a scheduled vote on release of the $14 million to the freedom fighters. "
Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Barry Goldwater (R-Ariz.), who was also at loggerheads with the administration over Central America, took the unusual step April 23 of rebuking his colleagues and accusing Kerry and Harkin of breaking the law and "transgressing" against the Constitution by holding unauthorized negotiations with a foreign leader.
With Sens. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) heaping praise on the Managua trip, Goldwater said Kerry and Harkin "negotiated over there ... and now they're trying to force the president of the United States to negotiate with the president of Nicaragua. I honestly think two members of our body are violating the [federal] code when they undertake to negotiate" and are "usurping a section of the Constitution" giving only the president the right to negotiate with foreign leaders, Goldwater said. "To transgress against the Constitution is wrong, wrong, wrong."
Kerry shot back that he was "a veteran of Vietnam who fought and was wounded in that conflict." He added that Secretary of State George P. Shultz had encouraged the trip, quoting from a letter to House Speaker Tip O'Neill (D-Mass.) encouraging "congressional travel to Nicaragua and Central America."
.
Again, why was he NOT arrested for treason?
Must be that RICH BRAHMIN background at work.
And Greg Craig, recently lawyer for Castro -- I mean Elian's father -- was highly involved in the anti-Contra legislation and support for the Sandinistas as Ted Kennedy's senior forign policy aide.
Craig is part of the Kerry campaign today and we do not need him in the State Department, perhaps even as Secretary of State.
Kerry shot back that he was "a veteran of Vietnam who fought and was wounded in that conflict."
Apparently that has always been his excuse to betray his country.
Vietnam Vet Kerry Told Senate He Saw Military Action in Cambodia
Did decorated Vietnam War veteran John F. Kerry see military action in Cambodia? He says nothing about it on the campaign trail, but he stated it as fact on the floor of the U.S. Senate on March 27, 1986. In that speech, Kerry accused President Ronald Reagan of leading the United States into another Vietnam in Central America, accusing the administration of Nixon-like duplicity and saying that he should recognize it because of his Vietnam experience.Kerry told his colleagues he was on Navy duty in Cambodia at a time when President Richard M. Nixon lied to the public and said that there were no U.S. forces in that country. He even took enemy fire. In his words, "I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what it was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the president of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; the troops were not in Cambodia. I have that memory which is seared - seared - in me."
The guy's a complete broken record. Everything is Vietnam in every way. I thought Algore was a loon.
Priceless, you cannot make this stuff up!
Both Al Gore and John Kerry had fathers who were communists and associated with known communists. They are both idiots in their own way, but John Kerry has done more harm to this country than is imaginable. When I put together the Kerry Timeline, I got a much better picture of John Kerry and his history of undermining this country.
I remember hearing drunken barflies who never set foot in Vietnam bloviate on and on about their war stories back in the '70's and '80's when I went to bars. I never could have imagined anyone like this Kerry putz.
Thanks for the link. Algore was raised a commie too but he holds that sweet leftist delusion that somehow it's perfectly American and 'democratic.' Kerry is commie to the core. He hates America and it's clear now that he always has.
"A trademark of the Kerry school of statecraft: making common cause with enemies of the United States - and allowing himself to be used by them - in order to win political battles at home.
Do you have an official source for the Senate Speech from 1986? I would like to put the full quote on my John F. Kerry Timeline.
From your post:
Look closely at the most stark (and well-documented) example of what John Kerry said about the Cambodia incident:I remember Christmas of 1968 sitting on a gunboat in Cambodia. I remember what is was like to be shot at by Vietnamese and Khmer Rouge and Cambodians, and have the President of the United States telling the American people that I was not there; The troops were not in Cambodia.I have that memory which is seared--seared--in me, that says to me, before we send another generation into harm's way we have a responsibility in the U.S. Senate to go the last step, to make the best effort possible in order to avoid that conflict.
That has been the quotes floating around the media (albeit not the mainstream media), but that isn't the whole quote. Kerry added a few more words that actually paint a picture of how bankrupt and hollow Kerry really is. Kerry continued:
Mr. President, good intentions are not enough to keep us out of harms way. The danger here is our support for the Contras. Everyone knows the Contras are our Contras. We have a proprietary interest in the in the Contras. So with that proprietary interest we will raise the stakes, and then will come the commitment of our prestige and worse our pride, our pride. How many battles do we have to fight for pride? (page 6422)
Again, why was he NOT arrested for treason?
Please, John Ashcroft, arrest John SKerry for Treason- about 9:04 PM on Nov 2, 2004.
Yes. The Congressional record, page 6422 (volume for 99th or 100th Congress). Click here for an camera image from the Congressional Record for that Congressional session, when Kerry gave his little talk (column on the right 3rd, 4th, and 5th paragraphs).
When I put together the Kerry Timeline, I got a much better picture of John Kerry and his history of undermining this country.""
Could it be possible for you to forward a complete copy of your efforts to John Ashcroft at Justice Dept, signature required, with multiple other copies to Cheney, Bush, Rove, anyone you can think of?
I think alot of justice dept employees aren't capable of thinking in terms of indicting a senator, but sKerry is way above the threshold for an indictment, IMO.
