They're doing a funeral wake for John Kerry on MSNBC right now... Since the convention started, after every powerful speech I switch to MSNBC just to see their reactions - especially Brokaw, Russert and Mitchell. They are definitely in funeral mode. Andrea Mitchell really can't take it.

OBL captured????? Great news!!
Hope it's true. Now all we need to find are the WMDs in Syria and the Dems don't have a leg to stand on - not that they ever really did.
To: Bon mots
but, like someone said earlier, they're (Dems) going to make it look like we caught him a while ago and have been waiting till now to announce it
To: oldpath
Bush is extremely detailed and Rove is making sKerry's campaign look like Baghdad the morning after!!Shock and Awe!

Yes, he is sticking only to his talking points now that his Viet Nam record has been exposed. Kerry talking points:
- War on Terror = "need international cooperation" (no elaboration, but we all know that France is dear to him)
- Economy = "Bush has lost jobs" (Kerry is playing with figures here. 80% of the new job growth during this Administration is in the small business sector, which is not included in the survey that Kerry is referring to. Notice how he NEVER mentions the unemployment rate? Why not? If we lost so many jobs, why is the unemployment rate not mentioned)
- Iraq = "I would have done it differently" (hindsight is 20/20. He NEVER elaborates on this.)
- Campaign = "the Republicans are engaged in personal attacks" (Yeah, but they were silent with MoveOn.org, George Soros, and of course Farenheit 9/11. Clever, just attack away then accuse your opponent of being negative.)
- Culture = "two Americas" (Kerry and Edwards want people to believe this, so the strategy is to keep repeating it until people start to think that there are two Americas.)
- All other issues = "Bush has lost jobs" (see above)

I listened to Tim Russert's interview on Hannity yesterday, and I have to say, he seems like perhaps the most objective journalist out there. He said "Big Russ" was truly undecided at this point, but went on to explain why Bush is succeeding (reaffirming WOT) and Kerry failing (unable to defend himself vs. Swifties AND the Bush question on Iraq). Now, personally, the reporters seem to give a lot of weight to Kerry's "I wouldn't do anything differently" comment about Iraq, but I just don't see that as either a) getting out to the public much or b) making much of an impact. The SWIFTIES are what are killing Kerry, and I predicted this on 8/21 ("Five Signs the Swifties' Ads are Killing Kerry" http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1196185/posts).
But I do NOT see Russert as overtly "pro-Kerry."

FYI (and note the date. Kamp Kerry has known this stuff was being looked at but figured that most in the media would bury it. OH, the majority of outlets tried. They gave it their best):
Kansas City Kerry
March 24, 2004
excerpt:
Over the past week, the New York Sun and the Kansas City Star have been reporting another unsavory story about John Kerry's antiwar past. Witnesses and FBI meeting minutes conclusively place Kerry at an event he has always denied attending: The November 1971 meeting of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) in Kansas City, in which a plan to assassinate pro-war senators was discussed.

I just figured that out tonight, when the reference to Kerry asking Paris for permission to defend ourselves came out. They even worked in a subtle French reference in the Barney video where they staged a mock doggie debate and dubbed the Kerry pooch "Fifi".
Like you, when the reference in the speech spoke of Kerry asking *Paris* for foreign policy advice, I posted on the Live Thread that was going to tie into the upcoming revelations to the masses about Monsieur Kerry's "negotiating" with the Viet Cong in Paris, 1971.

I would like to say that I am aggravated with the reports on those activist during the youth rally. I watched it live and never heard what the protesters were shouting (though it's appropriate that news reports tell us) because the young people there for the rally quickly overwhelmed the ugly chants with chanting of their own: FOUR MORE YEARS. They kept it up until the police had the disruptors removed.
I was very proud of the young Republicans' quick thinking and good humored handling of the situation and I wish the news would include THAT.

They're doing a funeral wake for John Kerry on MSNBC right now... Should we send flowers to the campaign headquarters? Or just a donation to the RNC in the Kerry campaign's name?

Would not want our President to keep quiet the capture of Osama for any reason If there was a strategic reason for it (getting information on other al-Queda operative/activities), I'd be all in favor. I agree that it would be bad if it were just political.
