I live not too far from Senator Miller's office in Young Harris GA. If you want to send the good Senator a note of thanks, post on this thread. I'll print the thread out and drop it off at his office, letting them know that should he like to return a comment, I'll post it here at FR.

I grew up in Washington State at a time when Democrat meant Henry "Scoop" Jackson and Warren "Maggie" Magnuson. Sadly, you are the only Democrat left in that mold. But do not give up hope. Stay in your party. Be the light to the blind.
As a lifelong Republican and a lifelong citizen of the great state of Georgia, I can only say that I am overwhelmed by your patriotism and instinct of what is best for America. God bless you as you ride off into the sunset of a great political career. There are those who are honest, those who are brave and those who are successful. There are only a few who qualify for all three. I am especially proud tonight that my son graduated from Young Harris College.
Don't think these liberals will rattle Zell.
Thank you for having the courage to speak the truth. You have set a wonderful example for our younger generation.
No-more can they say "all politicians" say whatever it takes to gain power for their own party without regard for the needs of our country.

Thank you. What a breath of fresh air. Thank you for putting country first ahead of party. Please lead the fight somehow to transform that party back to a party that represents the people of the USA.
You have exposed the Democrats and John Kerry for what they are. They are more concerned with what the world thinks of us and getting back into power than they are with our security.

Truth stands the test of time and is welcome from whatever source. The keynote speech at the RNC by a Southern Democrat was spectacular. Finally a Southern Democrat who is the antithesis to WJC. Thank you, Senator Miller, for your patriotism and willingnes to stand for American as a nonpartisan in her time of need.
