Posted on 09/01/2004 3:35:23 PM PDT by ZGuy

McAuliffe says that Kerry was in Cambodia twice, and delivered some CIA men there.

Link is to a 30 second videoclip with Hindrocket of Powerline blog asking the question and McAuliffe's direct answer/quote.

Was he there in the boat with Kerry?

I think Kerry should come out and say it himself.

McAuliffe says that Kerry was in Cambodia twice, and delivered some CIA men there.

He better be able to prove that.

Terry McAwful says a lot of sh*t, but I never believe a word that he utters. How can you really tell when he is lying? His lips move.

In short, the Democrats have locked themselves into this stupid story, that is easily disproved.

McAwful is very stupid.

I think Kerry should come out and say it himself.

Kerry has yet to answer a single question on these matters or respond directly to any of the accusations against him. ONLY his minions and party hacks are doing it.

Sooner or later he is going to have to take some questions from the press and hopefully they have at least a shred of journalistic integrity and will ask some pointed and direct questions.

Well, if not Cambodia, at least he stayed at a Holiday Inn Express!

Hopefully McAuliff can say who actually gave Kerry the orders to go into Cambodia, and how he sanitized his boat, himself, and his weapons, which were required for all cross border operations. Also, since he kept a journal, I'm sure release of that will certainly clear all of this up.

That's not what he said here - http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1205021/posts

HEWITT: Do you believe that John Kerry took a CIA man into Cambodia and kept his hat?

MCAULIFFE: Uh, I have no idea.

------

HEWITT: Do you think that he ran guns to anti-communists in Cambodia which he told the U.S. News & World Report on May of 2000?

MCAULIFFE: I don’t know. You’d have to ask John Kerry about that. I don’t know what he did in Cambodia or didn’t. That was a war 35 years ago. I want to talk about this year.

HEWITT: Did he go to Cambodia on Christmas Eve --your understanding-- in 1968?

MCAULIFFE: I think he probably did and probably George Bush when he was in the Alabama National Guard was driving the boat.

Terry McAuliffe--The man who made $18 million by illegally trading the stock of the now-defunct Global Crossing. Why aren't you investigated jerkoff?

"Sooner or later he is going to have to take some questions from the press and hopefully they have at least a shred of journalistic integrity and will ask some pointed and direct questions".

I think you know this will never come up in any press conference or debate if you're waiting on journalists to excersise some integrity.

They are in such an awkward position over Kerry's lies. Just too many of them. So on-board now are the master smear technicians of the Democrats. This ought to be an interesting few weeks, if we can get through them with sanity intact and GWB still in the lead!

McAuliffe is the best friend the Republican Party has. We should hope he stays on as leader of the DNC for another twenty years.

Something Kerry had said about being in Cambodia in 1968, and being shot at by the Khmer Rouge [one version of his story] did not sit right with me, so I did some Googling, and found that it did not sit right with Joseph Farah of World Net Daily, either. The problem: There were no "Khmer Rouge" in 1968 [says Farah]. Whether there were, or were not, I have confirmed by another source something I had remembered, which is that at the end of 1968, and early 1969, Pol Pot was holed up in the mountainous Northeast of Cambodia, with hilltribe people. While this was on the Cambodia/Vietnam border, it was not a place where anyoine was messing around in boats, being nowhere near the Mekong river.

I am also not at all sure it makes any sense whatsoever to speak of "anti-communist guerrillas" in Southeast Cambodia, or anywhere in Cambodia, in late 1968 or early 1969, as there were not many Communists to be "anti".
