Do you know if any Oregon Freepers are participating in the National March Against Terror on Sept 11th?

I believe the Portland Chapter of Protest Warriors are putting something together and I am working with the Vancouver Chapter on a Vancouver, WA presence.

If we cordinate we can show a bigger presence.

Also we are talking about a counter protest of the "Peace Rally" every Friday at Pioneer Court House Square.

The NMAT sounds intesting. But, the Friday CounterMarch at PDX Courthouse is a bad idea, imo. Primarily that 'peace rally' has deteriorated into a veritable nuisance and certainly a joke. From what I see going through there each Friday the assemblage is dwindled to the marginal, hard-core, true-believer moonbats, homeless anarchists, and listless heroin addicts. I think people have grown tired of them. Giving them any additional credibility by counter-presence would simply revive their spirit and their numbers. Not to mention, someone would get hurt. We have a line of decorum that is hard to cross. The people down there do not. Recall that a local Anarchist(Communist) group are the one's who murdered one of their own over a difference of opinion and dumped her under the Steel Bridge. This is the type we would be facing. One day, we may be willing to confront them with reciprocal methods and on our terms, but I suggest that that day has not yet come... not yet.

Street killing sets off grisly echoes

Eleven years ago, James Daniel Nelson was a 16-year-old Sacramento, Calif., runaway who called himself "Highlander," a name used in a series of fantasy films about an ancient race of humans called the Immortals, who can only be killed by their own kind. As part of a complicated conspiracy among a family of Portland street kids and homeless adults, Nelson stabbed a 15-year-old runaway to death under the west end of the Marquam Bridge. After serving more than 10 years for the teenager's murder, Nelson returned to Portland and became leader of the Thantos street family. It is suspected of killing one of its members -- Jessica Kate Williams, a developmentally disabled Gladstone woman whose brutalized body was found under the east end of the Steel Bridge on May 23.
