Kerry on local radio at the American Legion convention in Nashville.
He starts off by buying John Glenn's support by promising him another trip into space.
Opening joke about him having a problem keeping his speech under 10 minutes falls absolutely flat.

He seems nervous. He is not getting much applause.

How was he received by the Legionnaires?

It's great. The silence is deafening.

Live on Fox. He is getting some subdued applause. He has a way of being both condescending and boring. Will he recreate the medal toss for them?

Actually, so far, not a bad speech. Promising to remember the sacrifice of vets. Praising those wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I would classify it as "polite applause".

I cannot believe this. I cannot believe this. He is explicitly drawing attention to his post-Vietnam actions by claiming he "kept faith with veterans" after he came home.
Man, that Karl Rove has operatives everywhere.
