This is the water cooler talk this morning. The twins blew it big time last night, national TV, millions of viewers.
They were great! Maybe everyone who didn't like them would have been pleased if they spoke about Iraq.
It was embarrassing. IMHO they had no place on that stage - just like Kerry's daughters shouldn't have been involved at the DNC.
My wife thought they were great!
Those two girls are BUSH'S FAULT!!!!
No really....they are..... ;-)
I thought they did fine - to me, the giggles or whatever came off as having a case of the nerves. I know if I were in front of that many people, and on nat'l TV, I wouldn't do anywhere near that good.
They came across pretty well, to me.
Oh please, the girls were just what they are. They have not been brought up in a family that is consumed with politics and what the girls can do for their path to power. They are new college grads who have no experience in public speaking. They came across as honest and warm and not the least bit phony.
Oh, come on, all of you!
Would you really rather have had the sickening and very "mature" polished "performance" of the Kerry girls, with all that gush about how wonderful their father is, or the almost embarrassingly real young women we saw last night?
Sometimes, we can be so picky that we reveal more about ourselves than about those we criticize.
Frankly, I thought the Bush girls revealed an interesting fact: despite having grown up with a grandfather who was President of the U. S., and now a father who is President, they can be natural, giggly, and unsophisticated, and totally unimpressed with all that stuff.
Right now, you can hear a more sober talk being made by them to the Youth Group.
Maybe this is more to the liking of their critics. And this is the right place--before youth!
As long as they don't give their dad advice on nuclear weapons, what's the problem?
I never thought there'd be this much harsh reaction to the Bush twins. Sheesh, go back to your breakfast of bran flakes and stewed prunes, you old fogies.
It was cheezy and frankly unbecoming. But it will get a pass as they are just 20somethings.
They were a little on the silly side and looked much younger than their years. I think they gave this fanTAStic Convention a very human touch--as teenagers are prone to do at a family event. (I know--they're not teenagers) Did Granma Barbara seem embarassed?
Great kids! I loved the shots at Tarayzuh and Kerry. Funny and subtle.
Just had a scary thought. Cheney is speaking tonight. I hope his lesbian daughter isn't up there tonight trying to embarrass him.
They're cute . . . kind of bratty . . . but cute.
BTTT
Their parents weren't the only ones embarrassed.
