I heard a great story about Norah at Georgetown once...think about it every time I see her on TV. Hard to pay attention to what she says...

That was Joe Conason, one of the Pantload's character assassins. He said Zell takes his marching orders from Phillip Morris and isn't really a Democrat anymore.

So what? The liberals will use the fact that Bush breathes against him.

Well, batten down the hatches, and stay safe.

Dude the verdict is in 11 of 17 fence sitting yahoos move toward Bush in Luntz focus group. The other 6 could not be persuaded by Abraham Lincoln.

From what I've heard in the past, Imus appears to really like Zell...thinks a lot of him from the tone of the conversations I've heard. But it's obvious now, that Zell is in no mood for hamming it up...he's turned very serious and I wouldn't be surprised if he gives Imus a bit of the same medicine he gave prissy-chrissy tonight, should Imus go goofy on Zell.

i'm not worried about it in the sense that it effecta my opinion. but I am just making an observation that alot of sheeple, whose votes Bush doesn't have right now (in part) - get their news from them.

You, I, and other FReepers know this, but how will it play in middle America, among "undecideds", who get their news from lib newspapers and the alphabet channels... I love what he said, I think he could have done it without looking so angry.

Go take a look at the thread on Luntz's focus group. 17 swing voters going in. 11 out of 17 Bush voters coming out. High, high marks for Zell's speech, and obvious conviction. They seemed most impressed that this was coming from a democrat.

I have nothing against those folks except McCain....and in fact I like Laura a whole lot.

I would not support Arnold or Rudi on a national ticket but am glad they support our president and view them as assets due to their stature and support for the WOT.

It is wise to moderate for TV and hardcores like me get that practicality.

But tonight with Zell and Cheney was red meat....gotta have that too you know and it was served up very nicely in my opinion.

*yes, I know A cannot run nationally.

The powerful lib media said Kerry would get a big bounce from his convention...nope.

The powerful lib media said the election was Kerry's to lose...nope.

The powerful lib media said Bush was finished...nope.

That focus group said 11 of the 17 were now voting B/C. If that's what you'd consider "backfire", I'll take it every time.

'Fess up...are you Chris Matthews or Joe Klein?

-11 out of 17 are walking out of there voting for Bush/Cheney

Actually 11 out of 16. Possibly higher.

The one woman an obvious lifelong lib. The other woman on the end seemed like she might have also been; with her comment about preemption exposing a possible bias.

The starkest difference I have ever seen. Democrats were benign and positive; we, of course, are angry.

I now understand why John Kerry made his service the centerpiece of his convention. He is so vulnerable on national security, I mean so completely naked, that he had to risk the fallout a Viet Nam only biography might bring. I thank Zell Miller for making this crystal clear. I knew this about Kerry in the abstract but Miller's recitation of his record tonight was powerful. The only question left is will this country I agree on the threat we face today.

I'm beginning to wonder if we are seeing the end of using volunteers at these conventions. The security seems to be as porous as Swiss cheese, and convention credentials seem to be available to any nutcase who wants to just walk in, unfurl a banner, and start screaming and disrupting.

I'll bet you anything that this jerk got in on a press pass, like Medea Benjamin did yesterday. The Secret Service needs to start requiring background checks on the press or something.

Did anybody just see Weasley Clark on Greta's show? He's still saying that there wasn't any threat from Saddam. I can't wait for this election to be over so assholes like him can crawl back in their holes.
