Kerry appearance at American Legion - live thread
self

Posted on 09/01/2004 4:46:34 AM PDT by rudy45

Sorry for starting this thread so early. Is this like calling "shotgun" three days before the trip starts LOL?

I was trying to find out the time that the Senator's speech will occur. I found nothing at the Legion website (www.legion.org), nor at the Kerry site, nor at CSPAN. When will the speech be given?

Anyway, here is a thread for people to post their comments.

Never again. They are not an organiztion worth donating to. Sorry guys. Politeness to a traitor during a time of war isn't
what this country needs. They blew it. These men just got punked by a traitor. Wow!!! Appalling! Sometimes you got to stand up, they abetted him. No money from me to them. Their literature is going into the circular file. Sorry guys.

"I believe veterans come first!" .....

Veterans have always been first on his list. Weren't the mentally ill first on Hitler's list?

He said "when I'm president" earlier in the speech.

There's a seated group on stage

Did he bring his band of brothers along today?

Exactly right, r9etb.....had the members of the AL been disrespectful, it would have gained Kerry sympathy that he does not deserve. I think they did just the right thing.

Just jumped up to take a look at the last few minutes. Blah blah blah.....no energy at all.

Then I see Greenfield in TV....keeps on saying it's a conservative group....

Guess that's his excuse for why the speech flopped!!! AND IT FLOPPED BIG TIME!

Folks, that did now go well for him. Even though the Legion is loaded with dems, especially the FDR types. They did not recieve him very well at all.

I am satisfied that he is in big doodoo.

You really need to consider that many of those applauding were plants.

It looked like only those first couple rows gave the applause.

Kerry invoked McCain repeatedly because he believes it gives him credibility. Also, the SBVFT ads with the POWs invokes some strong feelings. Kerry is trying to defuse some of it pointing to the fact that John McCain thinks he is a good guy.

I wanted to see him exit and the audience shot, like they did for Bush yesterday where there were cheering people and thunderous applause until well after Bush was out of site.

Nothing.

These guys blew it. They are the un-passengers of Flight 93. They let him hijack that convention and drive it into the ground. They didn't even try to derail him, that I know of. Really bad showing, fellas.
