A suspect was arrested last night in the vicious beating of a cop at a protest Monday, a law-enforcement source said.

Jamal Holiday of Manhattan, who turns 20 today, will likely be spending his birthday in jail for assaulting Detective William Sample Jr., according to the source.

Sample, meanwhile, was on the mend at home.

The 10-year veteran who usually investigates taxi-business crimes, was badly bruised and suffered internal injuries in the attack that Mayor Bloomberg called "outrageous."

If they don't charge him with attempted murder there is no justice in NYC.

"People are trying to question the policies of a corrupt government. They take to the streets and don't ask permission," said protester Gan Golan, 30, a graduate student from Boston, who was arrested hours later after he sat in the street and refused to get up.

So a sensitive "intellectual" such as Gan Golan (a graduate student --- oooh, how impressive -- yeah, right!) is going to QUESTION AUTHORITY whenever and wherever he feels like doing so, apparently having never outgrown the "terrible twos." After all, some of his comrades do reek of an odor reminiscent of soggy-soiled diapers! Remember wannabe shoe-bomber Richard Reid? Well, I have news for Gan Golan. Now we are going to question the authority of those like him who "question all authority" (except their own, of course!). We are going to expose the dangers posed by those who seek to impose their authoritarian social experiments on an entire nation. We are going to deconstruct the deconstructionists until they are reduced to schizophrenic incoherence. These liberal loons are relentless, however. A few observations on the protesters against the RNC: (1) LIBERALISM IS AN ALMOST INCURABLE MENTAL ILLNESS. (2) IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE AN IDIOT. (3) REGIME CHANGE COULD BEGIN WITH THE ABOLITION OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ITSELF ;-)

Yes, I was making a joke about young Jamal's future in incarceration. Abner Nouima wasn't treated very well by the NYPD.

Keep this on file. He will not get one day of prison time. Maybe "community service" and one year UNsupervised probation. I've seen this over and over. Policemen are not worth protecting according to the dim appointed judges. Remember, you saw it here.

Police Outrage As New York Cop Beater Gets Probation March 23, 2005 -- Police are outraged that a protester will not go to jail for beating a plainclothes detective unconscious during last summer's Republican National Convention.

Jamel Holiday, 20, got the plea bargain, announced yesterday, after he admitted he pulled the cop off his scooter, then punched and kicked him.

The startling assault was caught on videotape that was repeatedly run on television news.

Holiday has claimed he acted only when 10-year NYPD veteran William Sample rammed his police scooter into a crowd of protesters. He also insists he did not know Sample was a cop.

It's an account his lawyer says is backed by several witness accounts and videotapes. Cops have insisted Sample was assisting fellow officers at the time and did nothing wrong.

"It's outrageous that a violent felony assault on a police officer resulted in a sentence that does not include any jail time," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

"What makes this even more outrageous is that the incident was caught on camera and resulted in a serious injury to the officer."

Sample's union also weighed in yesterday against the Manhattan Supreme Court deal, under which Holiday, a lifelong foster kid who was living in a Harlem group home and has served the last eight months at Rikers Island, will be freed to serve a year of intensive probation supervision.

"This is why the Detectives Endowment Association is seeking reform in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office," said association president Michael Palladino.

The association has endorsed incumbent Robert Morgenthau's rival, former Judge Leslie Crocker Snyder, in the upcoming DA's race.

And the left continues to wonder why real Americans question why corrupt judges are allowed to remain on the bench.
