These two girls are beautiful and talented my heart swelled with pride watching them and Jenna looks so much like her papa and Uncle Jeb.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!

KIDS DO SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS.
But other than a few jokes on morning news/talk shows Wednesday, this will be forgotton. I'm listening to a liberal talk show right now on the radio (just for fun) and they are not even talking about the twins speech. They are talking about the Arnold and Laura speech and the Bush comment about not being able to win the war, still making an issue of it after Bush clrified himself.
All in all, the Bush twins are to damn cute to get angry with. Who has not wanted to crawl under a rock at one time or another because of someting your child has said.

They sort of made Chelsea Clinton look like the dog she is.

I hope the next time they speak that they will act a little moroe grown up. For just being out of college -- they were barely on the scale.
Did they consider the national audience?
I didn't like the sex joke -- sort of a slam against all married couples.

If there is one thing that came across with the girls, it is that the Bush family is just like any other. The girls are normal American teens and not royalty or contrived princesses.
They love their father!
I think that is exactly what was intended.

It may take more insight or wisdom than many observers possess to recognize, much less appreciate, that these young ladies have indeed been brought up with unconditional love.
Those who prefer sham or the dour may exhibit concern over "appearances". Those who prize the unadulterated, the sincere, will treasure them for what and who they are; looking forward with certainty to the quality of grace that maturing will bring to them.
Surely their grandparents are too astute not to treasure them and far too perceptive to be embarrassed because they are ingenues.

They won nearly everyone over with their humor and charm. Light-hearted moments add a great deal that is positive to serious events. And they are beautiful girls.

Do you think now would be a bad time to ask W for their hands in marriage?

Some folks on this post sound like they expected a serious foreign policy speech. Please.
I sat watching the twins with a friend who has been a lifelong democrat, he thought they were O.K.

What bothers me is that so many are blaming the twins. They were scripted and staged.
Despite the poorly written jokes and poor direction they were given, they seem like normal, healthy, happy, well-adjusted, very pretty young women.
They deserve better, and I hope they get it in their future public appearances.

Oh yes, they are oh so cute but not ready from prime time. They came across as very immature and a little bit rude. I had no idea what the heck they were talking about--the jokes were lame and didn't really make any sense. It just didn't work. I was really hoping to warm up to them. I agree with what some others have said--the convention isn't a place for the kids.
Jenna looks so much like her papa
Actually, I think Jenna looks much more like Laura. I can't figure out who Barbara looks like.

Speaking in a purely Machiavellian sense, I'm not sure of the impact of their appearance yet. The problem is the 'pop culture' factor. It was risky but it may help the Bush image considerably. Needless to say, it was pretty impressive to see two 22 year olds speak in front of millions with little or no experience and to do so so calmly.

Here's where we separate the Bush Kool Aide drinkers from the rest.
