You all get the scoop, I am going to post comparative numbers tonight.
Too bad you forgot the 12+ million viewers that watched the networks for the dems.
Notice how PMSNBC's Little Ricky (Friend of Bill) Kaplan handles a convention: having his anchor desk situated in front of street riff raff waving "Bush Lies People Die" signs.
Dude, your site rocks!
Apparently, the Republicans already understood the point that boring is useless. It it ain't entertaining, it doesn't get the audience. If it doesn't get the audience, it can't communicate. That's a very simple equation.
Notice that the Republicans have entertainers up front and center. Also, they've cut the speeches to one-minute -- shades of Trafficant's one-minute wonders on the House floor. The viewer numbers in this thread demonstrate that the better approach is getting better results.
And, as you can see below, I agree with you that Kerry is toast. Dark brown, thoroughly dry, unbuttered, toast.

This also doesn't include C-SPAN viewers.
Kerry is milqtoast.
The thing that makes this all really amazing is the fact that last night's convention coverage was up against the season premiere of Monday Night Football with the Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans.
I think people are actually fired up about George W. Bush, and I think that we're in for a pleasant surprise in November. (okay, maybe it's more "hope" than objective thought!)
