This is the thread for Day Two of the RNC Convention.
Y'know, if overnight New England, New York and Jersey were "Ceded" to Canada, you'd have a MASSVE CRISIS MOVEMENT of capital, people and assets from Boston, Manhattan and everywhere to Chicago, Dallas, etc. To "America"
Just to avoid being Canadian.
What more needs to be said?
A few months ago a public opinion poll found that more Americans would rather spend time at a barbecue with George Bush than Kerry. Even if the latter brought the ketchup. Make that catsup. Anyone who calls Genghis Khan "Jenjis Khan," as Kerry does, is unquestionably a catsup person. -- Mike Bates: My Side of the Swamp
How my heart breaks for all the men who lived under that cloud full of lies.
Other than Chrissy everyone agreed that the speeches were wonderful. They refrained from trashing the Bush twins.
Brit kept mentioning the other night that only cable was showing Rudy. I switched to the alphabets and they were ALL covering Rudy.....at least here in the NY Metro area.
What a riot that statement was! I literally laughed out loud.
Exactly what I thought....I was shocked. That has been "taboo" for 30 years....except for the little folks, like me.
Same could be said of California.
They were adorable! Beautiful girls.
He's so cute. Thanks Ron for giving me 8 years of a good nights sleep.
I loved the sign "The Govenator"
They had no "finesse." They were silly. Their jokes were "lame." Their words certainly weren't scripted by others for them to read. They reminded me of my 19 year old daughter (at times) and some of her friends.
In other words, they reminded me of normal young ladies who are inexperienced, tend to say what they think, and haven't been groomed to be phonies.
What a tribute to the Bush family that their children have been brought up to be normal and not act like entitled snobs from Massachusetts who condescendingly shush an audience. : )
"What YOU don't realize is that there are 22-year-olds fighting in 130-degree weather in Iraq for the freedom of these two ditzes to be stupid and frivolous."
Yeah, you're right, that completely slipped my mind. I forgot. Oh whoops, no I didn't because I just got an e-mail from my brother the other day and he reminded me. Mentioned how his buddy got shot in the chest, but he'll survive.
I don't know where you get the maturity level of 13 from that speech. They started off making jokes, got serious about what their parents have taught them, and were their normal, most certainly not spoiled or arrogant selves. Jealous perhaps?
No it couldn't. In any way.
Stop hiding behind moderators or at least have the dignity to rat him out privately.
Your pro-abortion, anti-gun attitudes might be more welcome at DU.
I know!!
It was the Harlem Boys Chior that did after Laura spoke.
I wish I could have been on this thread last night but I had a project I was working on and could only hear the TV.
My favorite part of that arrangement is the accapella part where the line "In the beauty of the Lillies..."...wow..just wow.
btw, not much of the media covered what I thought was the best speech last night, Steele, the Lt. Gov from Maryland, I see a rising star there. 2012 VP?
Somebody calls me a ***** in a very public manner and I will report that abuse in the most public manner I can think of. How is that "hiding behind moderators"?
It's called being very upfront. Anonyimity is "hiding"
Somebody calls me a ***** in a very public manner. is there dignity in that?
You are telling ME to stop doing something? Just what do you think you are doing by saying that?
Congratulations!
Watch it Barlow, I live in Eugene and I'm being traded anywhere!
