This is the thread for Day Two of the RNC Convention.
Bwaaaahahhhaaahhaaaa!
Rush doing what Rush does well. Greta seems to be really listening and is giving him the floor, uninterrupted!
Actually it may not have been as bad if it hadn't lasted so long. The part where they started to introduce their dad was fine. It was okay to be funny, but they just kept being silly for too long.
They were aiming for the College crowd and it worked -- I have an email from the CR's praising the girls and saying how down to earth they are unlike the Kerry snobs. Perception really is different.
Yes, I'd like to. ;O)
After what we have heard about rush over the last 12 months,I am not sure how much I trust him.
Anyone watching CNN? Is Kerry actually CAMPAIGNING tonight?! Isn't that a little unprecedented?!
I agree with you. I was very disappointed in the twins. I wanted them to appear classy like their Mom and respectful of their Father. It was not an appropriate venue for them to try to be funny. The election is serious business and they wasted prime time not furthering our cause whatsoever. They are not "kids". They are old enough to realize what is at stake in this election.Jenna's known as a little bit of a smartass, which isn't really seen as a bad thing by most people under 40.

"After thinking it was a joke for all these years, Frank finally realizes maybe he does need to take a shower"
***Shake it like a Polaroid?!!?? ***
Proof positive that the twins' were directed to an audience of twenty-somethings. The comment refers to the music video to Outkast's song, "Hey Ya."
I wouldn't put too much stock in how the twins will play with the general voters--they were speaking to the young crowd.
I'm on Long Island... I may go into the city on thursday for the freeper-delegate breakfast. I was going to go and take pics of the vermin-I mean protestors but oh well. I have a job! LOL
OK, fess up - which one of you Freepers is running the Chyron machine over at CNN? :)
The Bush daughters weren't giving an overtly political speech. They were simply introducing their parents. Let's remember Jenna and Barbara were shielded from the glare of media attention by their parents. I don't get the feeling they were used as political props. And I thought their irreverent humor made their parents look human. Its hard for any one to say these two young ladies haven't been raised well. This is the first time the country has seen them in the public eye and well at 22 they can more than hold their own. As for their gracious mother, the First Lady further comment is superfluous.
Steele was really excellent.
That should tell people all they need to know. When the libs praise something, you know its your weak spot. When they hate something, you know its your strong point. imho
Kerry Camp PAIN on the screen for the whole segment!!!!!
And John Glenn looked like he was about ready to start crying in the background. I love it.
Didn't see the crawl but Major Garrett announced that a protester got a little too close to the Cheneys after Arnold spoke.
shame on Fred and Mara for nitpicking the girls. (I think they wanted to seem fair and FOX can't be accused of sucking up to Bush now.) They're 20 not 30, they're giggly, not wiley, and they told us about themselves becasue that's why they were there. America has 20 something voters, and the voting parents who love them. This was an honest, and fresh, very appealing introduction to these two young women. They aren't polished political pros, they admittted as much, but they love their Dad, they're a normal family, and aren't we lucky to have them?
