This is the thread for Day Two of the RNC Convention.
They must be older. His remarks were absolutely silly.
I must be easy...I got tears in my eyes a couple times during Laura's speech.
I had not read it before.
Yes, hot. But she brings a leftist tinge from CNBC/MSNBC/NBC.
I like Martha!
It is too bad Michael Steele was not on in primetime on broadcast.
Ah, the charming Medea Benjamin. What a dork. A grown woman acting the way she does.
Bill Kristol is a jerk.
Chris was right on the money about the twins. Since their remarks were scripted and approved, I seems pretty clear they were speaking to the young people watching. My son is 22 years old and wants to marry Jenna! My daughter is 18, just started college, joined the Bush-Cheney group at school her first week, and she thinks Barbara and Jenna are great, too. What would it take to get that stick out of Bill Kristol's .....?
I'am sorry these talking heads are comming of as old stick in the muds!! And I am 38. I liked the down home feel. I like the everyday people talking to us.
If MSNBC likes it, it wasn't good for us.
Actually, I was a school child during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
We lived in Florida and practiced lots of "duck and cover" drills under our desk.
JFK was the President then.
I just really liked the way he treated Laura in public. I liked the way she looked at him. I liked the way he always knew where she was in a complex public chaos.
The stuff I've learned subsequently regarding his "good ole boy" crousing problem and his subsequent commitment - God inspired and directed - to his wife, daughters and obligations were just supporting evidence. It fortified the great vibe I got when I saw George and Laura look at, and treat, each other in public. Loving partners. I don't need much more. We can never anticipate the crises, radically evolving landscapes and political realities facing the people we put in office. We can only trust the character, judgement and integritry of those people.
That's what the "one-issue holier-than-thou" folks around here miss. Intentionally. We "Bushbots" trust Bush, we understand that we don't have the contextual information he does on a daily basis, and we know any nitpicking or second guessing we do is purely an uninformed, self indulgent exercise.
We Bushbots have given him our governing proxy to this team. That's all we can do, we're living our lives, we either trust the President and his world class advisors and management team (with good reason) - or we don't. I do. Everyone I respect, admire and influence do too, or they are soon to do - through a combination of my charmful embrace and their understanding of the truth. Or, I no longer admire them.
Okay, okay. I'm voting for Bush-Cheney. Alert the Blogosphere.
The EXACT audience they were aimed at; NOT the fuddy duddies around here.
Bill has a lot of manlove for John McCain.
Mike Wallace's son-- of course he liked it.
Lt.Gov. Steele on MSNBC.
I'm boycotting Chris, but I surfed by and saw Steele and for him I'll watch.
It's the time of think I'd enjoy sitting a room with folks like you while watching so we could 'discuss' it, but sitting here at home it just would be torture.
Good luck in finding a network to your liking.
It's not hateful to say they did a lousy job. That's my opinion; that's how I saw it. I can't look at two sweet, bute girls--who obviously love their parents and grandparents--embarass themselves on national TV and still say, "They were excellent!"
It's no big deal. They took nothing away from Arnold's POWERHOUSE of a speech.
:-)
