Kondrake on the FNC: The twins came off as ditzes.
To: Cboldt
I have given up on it. The twins made me squirm with their lame MTV/Oscar/Grammy presenter send-up. It was a severe, *devistatingly* groan-worthy segment. And Laura... well, the outfit is a nice nod to 50's style and I don't like the eye makeup, but she's devistatingly boring as a speaker. Zzz.
From out here in Kali-forn-ia, Arnold done good! He did sound weird leading "Four more years" with that accent. I couldn't bring myself to watch Rudy & McCain last night. As a "Bigtime" fan, I have grand expectations for Cheney's speech.

Brian Wilson said that Arnold's son was waving a "Four More Years" sign while his wife sat through the show with clenched teeth.

I say it is a tribute to us winning the Cold War (maybe even a tribute to Reagan). We used to have air raid "practice" at school...we hid under our desks. Like that would help in a nuke attack. We were living in fear.

OK, I want to chime in on the girls...I blushed at the Sex in the City reference, but I loved the riff they did about trying to get jobs in Daddy's administration, like they thought they'd run things but there was this guy named Andy.
They had traveled and studied overseas but their foreign policy ideas had them hearing from Condi.
They had some other ideas but Karl called.
They thought the convention could use a director of communication but then Karen came back.
I thought it was cute.
Battle Hymn of the Republic will forever hark to my mind the September 14, 2001 prayer service and then Ronald Reagan's funeral...both in the National Cathedral.
