After way too many years in New England avoiding the 'island scene' - we finally spent a week on Martha's Vinyard with friends from Europe who had heard so much about how great it was - big mistake. Boring, hard to get around, rude staff, overpriced....I could go on. It was the longest week we EVER spent on vacation - all of us were REALLY happy to leave the island. We can laugh about it now but it wasn't easy at the time.

To be fair, this:

Seared Sea Scallops with Cottage Potatoes, Bartlett Farm Sweet Corn and Lobster Butter Sauce

Sounds effin' delicious.

Look at it this way, Francoise: You'll have a great career doing Viagra commercials after your defeat.

I Love Howie, but the best one was when Scotto asked Kerry about the botox treatments.

That's actually a very tasty sounding menu. Why, oh why, can't I be a kept man?

Just in case any of you are considering the accomodations, these are the rates for ONE NIGHT in a PLAIN GUEST ROOM:

Accommodates: 1-2 adults
Queen bed (one room available with 2 twins)
Location: Main inn - second and third floors
View: Overlooking The Inn's main entrance
2004 Rates: Spring $230 - $460

This absolutely nails the irony of pushing Kerry, not to mention John Edwards, as men who will fight the good fight for the little guy.

You're John Kerry, and you could order the food for them: for an appetizer, the poached Hudson Valley foie gras with black mission fig preserve and Portuguese bread. On top of the $78, there's a ``$5 supplement'' for that, and another ``$8 supplement'' if you go for the poached Nantucket lobster navarin.

Between this kind of stuff and the pink tie, John F'onda Kerry just ain't connectin' too good with Vinnie down at the Corner Bar and Grill.

Johnny-boy would probably get whacked with a pool cue, 'specially when they found out what he said about the troops back in '71.

Yeah and the media makes fun of President Bush's dining with the folks in the cafe in Crawford like its beneath him. The irony is the media never wonders whether Kerry thinks other folks are beneath him.

I have no clue what half of those dishes are!

But I have to say that most people that I have met with money, have problems admitting that they are more than just ordinary people.

My SIL works part time for a newspaper and my BIL has worked as an Engineer for GM since getting out of college in the 70's. You know how much money they make. My hubby's company sent him to Orlando to a Homeland Security Conference and we were able to tag along. (a dream come true for six and four year old girls!)
While explaining to my SIL that tickets to the big theme parks will run 200.00 a day, I told her that we just could not afford to do more than one day.
She said, "WE can't afford that either!"

Right. There is a big difference between "Can't" and "Won't". Some people with money don't see the difference.

That's the thing. GW is real. He's a real American.

If he and his family came to church for a pot luck, they'd fit right in, and everyone would enjoy their company.

If they came over to watch a ballgame and have some BBQ and a few beers, they'd fit right in and everyone would have a great time. I have no doubt about it.

If Kerry and his crazy wife came, they'd be freaks.
