No, the anti-Bush protestors capturing headlines in the Big Apple are not having their desired effect of pushing the current president out of the White House. They?re reminding Americans of the fringier, wackier side of the left that Democrats like John Kerry normally try to keep under wraps during an election year. And this is better anti-Democrat publicity than the Republicans could ever buy. What quicker way to cause second thoughts amongst Republican voters considering straying to Kerry than by wearing a ?Keep your laws off my vagina? t-shirt or defacing public property with a spray paint propelling computer as Bush protestors have?
So if over the top demonstrations won?t help kick Bush out of office and might actually work in his favor, why are the protestors nonetheless going ahead with their chanting and marching and vandalism? There are two possible answers: 1) because they don?t buy my nut-jobs-turn-off-voters analysis and honestly believe they?re changing voters? minds; or 2) because this really isn?t about Bush at all, but rather is a handy excuse for some heavy-duty self-promotion. Of course, the fact that Michael Moore and Jesse Jackson have been among those leading the New York protest charge makes reason number two look that much more likely......

Kerry's goon squad
Please pardon my ignorance, but just what am I looking at here? Is that a flag? If so, what is the significance of the symbol drawn upon it?
I remember a scene in the movie green card. Where andie Mcdowell was showing Gerard De pardu pictures of a protest she was in during college. "What were you protesting ? he asked.....
Andie" Oh I don't remember.
That was very impactful to me. This is about their own self indulgence. A way of showing their secular piety. Nothing more. They need a way to display "their faith" that is done by doing these sort of protests so they can brag that they protested something in the world.
Notice they don't do this in a country where it is a crime against the state? Let's say North Korea, Where were they when saddam was in power? Or were the feminists out in afganistan when the taliban were in power protesting their regime? Yeah Brave souls this lot. You have guys dying for their rights to do this but will they risk any real threat? Hell know they have a lesbian french literature paper due on wednesday.
I have no idea what it means but I would assume it means "sexual liberties" or something... The purpose of the image was to show that those types of people do not relate at all with normal, hard working people.
If so, they were Republicans until the sleazeball lawyer blackmailed the anaesthesiologist into breaking open the medicine cabinet.
But they're the best friends the Bush campaign could possibly have. One look at these freaks and Mom and Pop in the battleground states rush out to vote for Bush in droves. And to think the jerks are doing it all at their own trouble and expense, or at least at the expense of Mummy's Visa. Remarkable!
And I would say: Mission accomplished.
After all, from whence do these unruly mobs materialize - especially on weekdays during what most of us would consider "normal business hours"? It would appear that the majority of them either do not work, are supported by wealthy trusts and foundations fueled by Liberal Guilt, or are simply enabled by indulgent and negligent parents.
Do you guys really think the pics of the freaks will sway rats not to vote rat. I don't. I live in a hardcore union/rat area and they don't give a flying f**k. My 80 year old aunt is very active in her church and would not vote for a Republican if it was Jesus himself.
I will give you that it may sway a miniscule percent but not enough to make a differnce.
Agreed. These theatrics play well in NY and Calif., but turn people off most everywhere else.
The point, I think, is not to sway the hardcore Democrat consituencies - theirs is a secular religion, and such faith is not moved by the evidence of one's senses. The idea is allow political moderates - the 10-20% in the middle - to see the face of the Left that the mainstream media attempt to hide at every turn. And frequently it is not a pretty sight.
