Another excellent AEI rant from Marni Soupcoff. You go girl!

Let's keep them front and center. The Lefty loco-weeds bring us more voters than all the GOP Convention speeches could ever win over.

No, the anti-Bush protestors capturing headlines in the Big Apple are not having their desired effect of pushing the current president out of the White House. Theyre reminding Americans of the fringier, wackier side of the left that Democrats like John Kerry normally try to keep under wraps during an election year. And this is better anti-Democrat publicity than the Republicans could ever buy. What quicker way to cause second thoughts amongst Republican voters considering straying to Kerry than by wearing a Keep your laws off my vagina t-shirt or defacing public property with a spray paint propelling computer as Bush protestors have?

I think many mainstream Dems are finally realizing that a substantial segment of their party is composed of nutjobs like the ones protesting (and making fools of themselves) in NYC. Hopefully they can draw the appropriate conclusion.

Yes, people who witness the wackos walking the streets of NY are turned off by their ugly behavior, but if you read the Wash Post or NY Slime, you're told that they're ordinary people, families, students...concerned citizen.

Keep your laws off my vagina Ok, so she wants an unrestricted free access pubic public area. That bit of personal geography is probably a high traffic area anyway.

Even a peaceful demonstration with a lot of participants --- which could be called a "successful" demonstration --- is good for Bush.
What's more interesting, a bunch of boring democrat speeches in Boston (with a few hundred demonstrators locked in a razer-wire pen outside), or the great speeches we're hearing from the republicans with a backdrop of a lively street-scene in NY?
Which is going to get a larger TV audience?
Thank the demonstrators --- whether they behave well or not. They are boosting our ratings.

Baby Carriages!
If there was an intent to be peaceful, there would be babies, and baby carriages. So, it's a given as to where this is going.

I can't spot the one in the picture with the "Keep your laws off my vagina t-shirt.
They DO look like the usual liberal women though.

You have a point...they also show middle America the Face of a Kerry supporter. The Moms on my daughter's cheerleading squad were talking about Swifties (praised) and protesters (intense criticism) yesterday. Now we live in Georgia, but I'm telling you the mid-west doesn't approve of protesters. They don't want to see giant pink penises. I lived there. This will turn off plenty of swing voters and evern some Democrats.

I agree. As the week goes on, they will feel more compelled to "make a statement", even if the statement is "I'm a looney, I hate the United States, I tolerate everything except Christianity, and I hate my parents".
