MTV Crowd Boos Kerry Daughters (watch the great video!)
The Daily Recycler ^ | August 30, 2004

Posted on 08/30/2004 10:59:06 AM PDT by Cableguy

Alexandra Kerry is on the Drudge Report again following her appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards. (This time minus the see-through dress)

From the moment Alexandra and Vanessa started speaking, the boos outweighed anything close to cheers, and the reaction turned worse when the daughters asked the VIACOM youth to vote for their father. So shocked by the reaction, the taller of the two daughters tried to 'shhhhhh' her peers to no avail.

I'm no Kerry supporter, but to boo the children of either party, is petty and extremely tacky. If Republicans did this, they need to get their act together.

Is she 'shushing' the crowd? lol - reminds me of the picture of when Theresa reached down to stop the Edwards child from sucking his thumb.

If this was an MTV event, I doubt many in the crowd were Republicans.

My wife was watching this and I happened to come in when the boos erupted.

TOO FUNNY!

I agree, we would all be dogpiling on the booers if it was the Bush twins that were booed, which they also were, but I dont think as bad as the Kerry's. They had a good message about voting and expressing that right.

They are hardly "children"...they are adults who have joined in the Bush-bashing.

I can not believe that they support their dad who walked out on them and their mother, when they all needed his support most.

He is a jerk who will always put himself first in every decision, just like he did his wife and children.

I tell you, folks, there is something going on in the electorate that has been going on since 9-11-01, and the media and the pollsters are not picking it up. I have a gut feeling that this election will not be close, and that all the pollsters, and the opinion pushers who rely upon them, will end up in shock, and with egg on their faces Nov. 2.

Tickets were sold to the public, so I don't think anything was orchestrated by the Republicans. Regardless of their message, I would not take too kindly to having someone shush me and speak in a condescending tone when I was not necessarily there to hear a paid political announcement -- for any candidate. I think they were off the mark to put in a plug for their father and ere probably too cocky to assume that everyone there was on their side, so to speak.

Where is THAT picture? I missed that one! Guess that was the end of the "honeymoon" between the Heinz-Kerry clan and the Edwards?

They had a good message about voting and expressing that right.

We want all of Kerry's supporters to vigourously exercise their right to vote on election day, November 3rd.

They shilled for their dad, too. Asked everone to vote for their dad and got a TON more boos. Despite the fact that MTV's message is "Rock the Vote"...you know "Get out there and vote...doesn't matter who for, just be a good citizen, educate yourself, etc...."

The Bush daughters were presented in a taped message from NY where they stated that they couldn't be there in person because they were at the convention "supporting their dad". They didn't ask for anyone to vote for their dad. They stuck with MTV's theme.

"I'm no Kerry supporter, but to boo the children of either party, is petty and extremely tacky. If Republicans did this, they need to get their act together."

What Drudge doesn't say is that the Bush daughters were introduced at the same time. Good chance they were the ones being booed. Supposedly the booing stopped once the Bush daughters were off the screen.

I agree that it's bad form to boo candidates' kids.

Wow. Do these girls look like two rich, elitist snobs or what! Just look at their body language. You can instantly see that they think they are better than anyone else there. And that's why they got booed.
