MTV Essay Contest Finalists

Posted on 08/30/2004 10:57:39 AM PDT by mnehring

I decided to hop over to MTV.com and see what trip their Choose or Loose campaign was passing along, shocked to find that their essay contest finalists represented a glowing endorsement of President Bush.

http://www.mtv.com/chooseorlose/rnc_contest/

Here are some snippets:

…President Bush understands the value of time and volunteering…

…Our president knew that service within our community is essential to defeating the very dangers that threaten our liberty…

…The President’s call to community service is about the greatest gift of all: an unconditional commitment to helping the poor, the elderly, and those without hope…

…We have the privilege of uniting under a leader, President George W Bush, who calls us to a higher purpose. Instead of Generation X, he inspires us to be what I call Generation X-ample…

There is hope for the future yet!!

The winning essay though was a Pro-Kerry one, that went like this:

I like John Kerry. He is not George W. Bush.

They must have been looking at their recent ratings.

I'm surprised anyone who is a fan of MTV is capable of writing an essay.

Bush's call to volunteer has been answered by many willing people- myself included. It is proof that time and a smile can make the world of difference in someone's life.

Beyond the stunner that there were conservative entrants is the fact that EnemaTV published their essays.

re: "This and the booing of the Kerry daughters - what is going on?"

Yesterday someone commented in a reply that would-be peers of the Kerry daughters are being aborted. I thought it was a very funny comment, but the longer I think about it the more truth I think it tells! If liberal women are choosing their careers and leftist political activities over having and raising children then it stands to reason that the conservative ranks would gain while the liberal ranks would shrink.
