That's in sharp contrast to last month's Democratic convention in Boston, when Republican President George Bush politely stopped all campaigning and his party stopped running TV and radio ads. The idea was to allow Kerry and his Democrats to have their week in the limelight. There was nothing polite about this. G.W. was just following the basic rule: "If your enemy is trying to commit suicide, get out of the way don't hinder him."

Does anyone notice this is staged - especially for the reported that got this shot. This is definitely Not a spontaneous protest.

Marisa Tomei, Lauren BacallIts too bad these two are against Bush. Anyway I read a thread that a ProtestWarrior was at this particular protest and shouted "I see you are memorilizing the victims of 9-11!!" then she shouted "You never protested Osama! You never protested Osama!"
Sounds like she almost started a riot.

These idiots bring to mind one of Ronald Reagan's best lines, spoken while he was Governor of California:
"Yesterday, I saw a lot of protestors shouuting "Make Love, Not War". Trouble is, they didn't look like they were capable of either."

Anyone who has any doubts about the character of the two main political parties should study the nature of their respective enemies.

The AP reported that protestors harrassed GOP Delegates at the Theatre yesterday...yelled Republicans were not welcome and shoved a GOP delegate (middle-aged woman) and called her a b*tch. Since when do Democrats own New York. New York is an American city and belongs to all American. STFU you Kerryite losers. I went to high school in Connecticut and spent many happy days in New York. I have every right to go to New York anytime I want...Shame on you for pushing a woman-bullies and thugs.

Surprisingly this morning, the news on NBC said the Sunday protestors resembled "a carnival"... heh heh heh, Liberal clowns and court jesters of the new millenium.

I wonder how many of these protesters are hired guns?Hehe...I would guess many are...There were actually two callers this morning on a talk radio show here in the Chicago area that were pushing the theory that some of the kookier protesters were actually set up by the Republican Party to make the Democrats look bad and they were serious.
I was laughing so hard I almost drove into a tree

IMO Kooky Liberal dopers DO NOT need any help looking bad. It's the one thing they're superior at. Self defeatests.

So it's no surprise that such people as Marisa Tomei, Lauren Bacall, Robert Altman, Margaret Cho, Spike Lee, John Sayles and Slick Rick plan to speak at demos against Bush and the Republicans. Board members of the Democratic "Think Tank."

But this week the Democrats will be joined by anarchists, Hollywood stars, peaceniks, leftists, pro- abortionists, same-sex advocates, and a multitude of other protesters in daily and nightly demos.
All important constituents of the ideologue-addled, disruptive, and anti-self-governance Democratic Party.

As a Canadian ... I am thoroughly disgusted. I sure as hell would not want Americans interferring with politics in Canada so who the hell do these people think they are.
No doubt Jennings (ABC) and former Canadian MuchMusic VJ John (JD) Roberts (now CBS news reporter/anchor) will be happier than punch. But as for me ... you can ship them all to some country that has "stan" in its name.
