THE dearth of A-list celebrities attending the Republican National Convention has unleashed a bevy of B-listers on the town, including former liberal Stephen Baldwin.
Though he doesn't admit to being a Republican, the actor is throwing his support to the team of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney under the banner of his new, born-again Christianity.

I knew that this Baldwin had found the Lord but this is the miracle.
It's going to be weird at the Baldwin Thanksgiving table.

Baldwin has a Christian youth group he works with that revolves around skate-boarding, etc. After being born again, he said he saw life differently.
By the grace of God.
Good for him.

This Baldwin would not say the name of the candidate that he supports, not one time. Personally I am not convinced that it is President Bush he supports.

Personally I am not convinced that it is President Bush he supports.I noticed that too, but after being interviewed for a while by, I think, Rita Cosby, he said it without saying it. He said something like, "Just picture in your mind the candidate who has the most faith -- and everyone know which one that is. I'm going to vote for him." Then after the segment, Rita said something about President Bush, calling him "The man Stephen Baldwin thinks has the most faith."

Bless him for seeing the light and all, but being 'the smart one' in the Baldwin family is akin to having the fastest moped on the block.

I don't know who Stephen Baldwin's followers are, and based upon what he "SAID" I would not be able to say that he said outright that he was a Bush supporter.

I agree with you. Odd interview and never once said he would/is supporting Bush. Might be that he thinks Kerry has more "Faith" in what he believes in. I wouldn't count on Baldwin being in the Bush Camp but more like getting publicity for his own gains, whatever they are.

I heard the interview as well, and Steven said the events of 9-11 are what directed his newfound faith. That said, in conjunction with his statement of faith, it was pretty clear it was Bush he was speaking about. He just didn't want to confuse politics with religion, which I can understand to a degree. On the other hand, be a man and say, 'yes, I am supporting Bush because in *my* opinion, he's the best man of faith to lead us in this fight against evil.'

I agree with you. Later if asked he can spin it either way, if he wishes to do so. Tired of wishy washy opaque statements.

That is definitely his picture... Looks to be a few years old.
To those who say he is being "wishy washy" by not screaming "IM VOTING FOR BUSH", I think its refreshing to see a celebrity NOT make an outright endorsement solicited solely because of their celebrity. I don't want to hear his brother endorse Kerry (which he has a forum to do SOLELY BECAUSE he is Alec Baldwin), thus I don't want to hear Stephen Baldwin endorse Bush for the same reasons. When asked he said "this is the issue I care about, and I'll vote for the guy who shares that issue..." I have gained a great deal of respect for him, EVEN if he means he's voting for Kerry.... (Which seems highly improbable given the context of what he said).
