NEW YORK - The 2004 Republican National Convention today announced an initial schedule of podium speakers, program participants and entertainers for the five official convention sessions at Madison Square Garden on Monday, August 30 through Thursday, September 2. Additional announcements and program details will be released in the coming days.

"The outstanding lineup of Republican Party leaders, elected officials, and entertainers who will take to the stages of the Garden this week are a testament to the strong leadership of President George W. Bush and the support for his vision of a safer world and a more hopeful America," said Bill Harris, CEO of the 2004 Republican National Convention. "This lineup will be supplemented by more announcements in the days to come - and certainly a few additions that will take everyone by surprise."

Why does the program not take place in the daytime after Monday? The Dems were on seemingly all day every day.

I'm glad its not cause I get to see it when I come home from work. I got to trek thru the protestors on my way home every night and I don't want to miss a minute of the convention. It might still be on in the day, but I think the main stuff is at night.

No, only the first day. Wondering why our convention is more truncated than the Dems.

My sympathies on walking through the vermin.:-)

Why is it the media is getting so upset with the fact that Rudy Giuliani, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and John McCain are speaking at the convention???!! They say that this is a con and a dirty trick, that all real Republicans spew hate and have blood on their hands. That these are not real Republicans and the entire convention is a lie to fool the "ignorant" voters in middle America. This is a rhetorical question. I know the answer and it makes me sick that the media is so blatantly biased.

I cant wait either. I am glad to see Ron Silver speaking. Not because he is an actor either but because he makes a very intelligent and good argument for voting Bush back.

I think I read somewhere that Scharzenegger is going to be on on Tuesday, between 7 and 8 pm PDT, and will speak for about 20 minutes.
