ALL OF GOTHAM IN CROSS HAIRS
By PATRICK GALLAHUE, LARRY CELONA and ALY SUJO
August 29, 2004 --
Two men charged with plotting to blow up the Herald Square subway station were also planning a "holy war" rampage against seven other crucial targets around the city including at least two other stations, three police precincts and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge, officials said yesterday.
"They had the intention to cause damage, to kill people," said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. But "they did not immediately have the means to do it."
Shahawar Matin Siraj, 21, a "loose cannon" from Pakistan, and James El Shafay, 19, a Pakistan-born U.S. citizen from Staten Island, were charged with conspiracy.
Cops say they plotted to use backpack bombs to blow up the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station. It's just a block from Madison Square Garden, where the Republican National Convention kicks off tomorrow.
"Last week, they actually went to the station and drew a map," said Kelly. "We had them under surveillance, but we couldn't guarantee [they wouldn't act]. Their motive, basically, was hatred for the system."

Not just the protesters--a lot of Dems don't have a clue either. Kerry thinks this whole terrorism threat thing is "overblown." :(
Is it that, or are they merely complicit? I'm still trying to answer that for myself. I've decided that they are afflicted with some sort of mental illness that destroys the capacity to be rational, recognize truth or see the overriding value in truth. But maybe that itself is part of evil itself, rather than a mental illness?
And instead of executing these muslim pukes, we'll stick them in a cell for a few months where they can stir up the blacks who are doing time.
Give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves. And John Kerry's candidacy as well. Party On.
Fox News just reported that some NJ ambulances are being watched. The terrorists enjoy filling them up with explosives in order to drive into huge events uncontested.
Haven't seen that story in print - yet...
isn't this a wonderful blurb.
I don't know if anyone's started a prayer circle for the convention yet, but I hope everyone will take some time to pray for everyone's safety. It's not just the AQ types, but the "protesters" can quickly turn violent too.
Ping. With better details.
It won't even dawn on many of the demonstrators that because they were caught, there wasn't any terrorist attack.
So when the next warning comes, they'll again say Bush is crying wolf.
But if they had succeeded in pulling off the attacks, does anybody have any doubts about who'd be blamed?
Rather than waste our time and money over these idiots, just ship them off...them AND their families. Thus they can always remember that they HAD their chance to make a good life and that their IDIOT children ruined it for them. Send them back to Pakistan. We don't want the mother or the father or the sister...we don't want any apologists. Ship them out.

Up now.

They'll say he's crying wolf right up to the explosion.
Then they scream "What did Bush know???"
The left is praying for another attack on America just as they are praying for more of our soldiers to die.
No doubt ambulances originating in Paterson, NJ
The only thing sicker than that is just who they are praying to.
Another definitive example of why profiling is ineffectual. It would have never discovered the Swedes, Shahawar Matin Siraj and James El Shafay.
The more protesters, the more target-rich the scene is for terrorists. They have no problem killing folks that seem to be on their side if they can get the attention they want. One of my biggest fears is that they find a way to massacre a bunch of the looney tunes doing the protesting and keep the RNC convention from putting out its message. I'm half surprised they didn't do it at the DNc one - Keeping Kerry and his crew from talking is helpful to them, where it would be harmful to the Bush people to not be able to speak...
