Yes, and?

The President is hardly supposed to be a rubber stamp for Congress.

A simple veto would have relegated CFR to the trash heap.

But of course, the Media and the Left would have raised hell, and we can't have that happening.

Please give me a President who doesn't act based on what the Media or his opponents may say or do reactively.

You'll get such a President just as soon as you can deliver a voting majority so large that media bias no longer sways elections.

Until then, it's simply unreasonable to expect a President to be the most extreme right or left wing persona possible.

America is far too centrist for such extremism. 35% of Americans are left-of-center Democrats. 34% of Americans are right-of-center Republicans. Most of the rest of that remaining 31% are sitting on the center line.

Our politics reflects that mix, along with the news media's bias.

As I recall when this board was established Bill Clinton was known as the original Poll Driven President, and he was pilloried for it. What has changed? Just one little word (D) became (P)
